If you're using Subway/Metro, get off at the Piramide station and take the PIAZZALE OSTIENSE exit. Once you're outside, the meeting point will be on your left-hand side. The check-in begins at 8:15, we depart at 8:30. We use train and cannot wait for latecomers.

10/10 - Amazing tour with Sonia - 10/10 - we couldn’t recommend this tour enough! Sonia was amazing - we’ve never met someone so knowledgeable about the history of Rome and the area. Ostia Antica was a fantastic, quick train ride outside the city and into a much more relaxed, less busy spot. It’s almost a good thing that the area is not as well known as other popular tourist destinations, because there were no crowds. Ostia was also so well preserved, it’s incredible to see firsthand. Thank you Sonia for such an amazing and informative day!! You were great company :)

5 stars for Sonia!! Excellent tour. - We had a private tour of Ostia Antica with Sonia and it was SUPERB! She was extremely knowledgeable, which made sense as she is working on her (second) masters with the thesis being on Ostia Antica! And on top of having so much to share with us, she had a delightful personality.
It was a lot of walking, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. And Sonia was so sweet as to help us get transportation back to our hotel … which ended up being a bigger challenge than any of us expected. She was kind enough to stay with us to assure we got on the proper bus.

Well Preserved! - Fierro was an exceptional guide! Very knowledgeable and kept us engaged and entertained the whole time. The rest of the group did not show, and it ended up being a private tour. Ancient Ostia is beautifully preserved. Easy to imagine life existing ao many centuries ago. A must see!

Informative, enjoyable - Sonja (or Sonia) was a lovely tourguide. In the last month of publishing her theses, but still had time to give some tours and tell stories about the place. She asked us questions, what made it feel like we were archeologists ourselves! Thanks and good luck to Sonja!

Great discovery - Our guide, Furio, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Ostia Antica. He was also very personable. This was our third trip to Rome, and I only learned about Ostia Antica a few months ago. Glad we discovered it. We went on a Sunday and nearly had the entire park to ourselves.

Bringing ancient lives to life with humor and deep knowledge - Sonia was an incredible guide, and not only because she has a master’s degree in art history. She made the history of the site come to life, was engaging in how she shared her considerable knowledge, and was funny on top of it all. My parents and I kept marveling at how we would not have known what we were looking at without her as our guide. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you Sonia!

Spectacular - Sonia was spectacular!! She was very knowledgeable and helpful with everything, from getting our train tickets to helping us catch a taxi afterwards. The trip to Ostia was just special! We had visited Pompeii before with a large group and this trip to Ostia exceeded our expectations. It was just my husband and I, we were able to ask Sonia as many questions as we wanted. Ostia isn’t anywhere near as crowded as Pompeii so we took our time and really learned a lot. Sonia made the is trip just wonderful!! Thanks Sonia!
