FULL REVIEW: The perfect day trip if you don’t have a lot of time - This day trip is perfect if you want to see multiple things and don’t have a lot of time. I only had the weekend in Rome so i took 1 day for exploring Rome and one day for this trip. I have always wanted to see the Amalfi coast and this was the perfect way to see it, spend some time there, and check it off the list while not having a ton of time. Sonia was great, she had the perfect balance of talking, sharing information and fun facts, cracking jokes, and giving us our time for beauty sleep on the bus. Antonio was a great bus driver. If you’re looking for an stress-free way to get to and from the Amalfi coast, Positano, and Pompei this is your trip. Here’s the itinerary: • Leave Rome and on the bus between 1-1.5 hrs and there’s a stop for coffee/pastries, gift shop, and bathroom • then about 2 more hours down through Naples and the Amalfi coast with incredible views (don’t worry if you don’t get the pictures on the way down, you’ll be on that side on the way back, we even stopped for 2 minutes to get out and take pictures of the coast) • then about another hour to Positano shuttle and from there another 30 minutes to the Positano streets • 1.5 hours in Positano to shop, eat, and/or see the beach • if there is extra time, on your way to Pompei you may stop at the Limoncello factory (which also has bathrooms) • then an hour or less back to Pompei for your 1.5 hour long guided tour • Sonia gave us the option to reserve pizzas at a place close to Pompei earlier in the day so after Pompei, we got pizza, cake and drinks for 18€ (has bathrooms) • then 1.5 hours or so back to the gift shop/coffee/pastry shop/bathrooms • then 1.5 hours back to Rome meeting point. We were the earliest slot at 7:10am but were actually pulling out of the meeting spot at 7:20am and returned by 9pm. Like I said, this trip is a great way to see a handful of bucket list items in a day and learn a lot but to be honest, you spend most of the day on the bus. For me, this was perfect and I really enjoyed it because it allowed me to check a lot of boxes in one weekend but if you want to spend quality time on the beach, shopping, or at Pompei, this may not be your thing.

Excellent- Worth the time and money. - A fantastic day with Laura and Andreas. I felt like they really cared that we had a great experience and they did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed the day. As a guide Laura was fun, knowledgeable, professional and organised. Andreas was an excellent driver. We felt like we were in the best hands. The Amalfi coast has lots of winding narrow roads and Andreas handled it beautifully. We covered a lot of ground and found out lots of information. It was great to see Pompeii and get a taste of Positano as well as seeing lots of other places of interest out the window along the way with Laura’s commentary. I felt the tour was totally worth the long day and the cost. I was overwhelmed with trying to plan my own trip to these places so decided on a day trip. I’m so glad I did this tour. The bus trip was very comfortable and relaxing.

Just Ok - Overall ok. Guide was late in the morning. Talked about pizza is good in Pompeii close to Naples. Suggested a place. As a group we went. Margarit pizza was the worst in my 8 days in Italy.

Do not consider - Terrible experience with the company and with Viator. Do not recommend. Lost nearly $400. Taxi got in a crash so we were running late, they called us and asked if we were coming and we said yes and they still left and refused even a partial refund

Love Viator but this one was horrible. Do not recommend - Tour was not worth the money at all. The company was unresponsive before the tour when we had questions about where to park the next day for the tour (even though the booking showed several means of contact information, and we tried all of them). there was several busses and hundreds of people going on the same tour. Our bus was packed, we could barely move or breathe and we are not large people. We made several unnecessary stops… one was for pizza which you had to go to whether you wanted it or not. It was minimum up charge of 18€ for a small pizza and drink. Another was for a bathroom break in each direction, which happened to be at an area that was obviously working with the tour guides to stop there. The bathrooms were disgusting and the items for sale were extremely overpriced. Positano was beautiful but severely overcrowded with all the tour buses. We were given less than an hour to explore the town on our own and then we had to meet back up in a certain location. At that location, there were four different families that were late and we had to stand there in the hot sun and wait for them for half an hour before we could get on the bus to Pompeii. Due to waiting for families that were late, we were all late for Pompeii and that portion was cut short. We were there maybe 30 minutes, rushed through the tour and had zero time to stop for souvenirs or pictures. We were being rushed to the pizza place that had “a deal” with the tour guides… the tour guides even took our pizza preference while on the bus and the restaurant had pizza ready for us that we pre-ordered, it was cold and served from a folding table in a hallway behind the actual restaurant. we spent more time sitting there eating the cold pizza than we did in Pompeii or Positano. This trip was a huge disappointment, waste of 14 hours, and a waste of money. I do suggest Pompeii and Positano but I suggest that you do it on your own and not with a tour guide especially not city wonders

Ripoff, SCAM, do not use this company, read my review! - Worst company do not use- SCAM. Bus broke down and we did not see Positano or Pompeii, instead dropped us at a Limoncello gift shop for 20 minutes and diverted us to another town for 45 minutes, just so they could say they did something, and thus refuse refunds for us all. I have never been so ripped off. No explanation for the denial of refund. I assume they think their crappy bus breaking down is an act of god? Have no idea because they simply refused my refund request despite never making it to Positano or Pompeii. Not even a refund of the entrance fee to Pompeii which is included in the fare.

Disappointing and upsetting. - We all never made it to both of the places as the bus broke down/ then we were taken to sorreno where it rained heavily and the accident ahead of us on the way to Pompeii prevented the whole group from going to Pompeii. It got so late the second bus took us halfway to home and we met up with the original bus who took us back to Rome. It was 10 hours in the bus. We were all hungry and tired. The guide told us we will get a call from Viator to give us the refund. The guide suggested that it would be good to do Pompeii before taking us to Sorreno but he was advised to do Sorreno first. I understand circumstances happens but the impact on me is that I have waited for decades to see Pompeii as it is my first time in Europe and my chance was missed as I only had 2 days in Rome to do Pompeii and Vatican City. I haven’t received a call yet from Viator. Please email me as I am travelling. I am looking forward to having my full refund back for this trip. Thank you.
