Many of the inhabitants were also buried before they could escape. The drive from Rome to Pompeii is 3 hours.

Definitely Recommend! - We had the BEST time! We were picked up on time, our driver was so knowledgeable, we stopped at the perfect places. It was all so well organized, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Pompeii and Amalfi Coast - Fabio was a fantastic driver and tour guide. He took us to excellent photo stops along the Amalfi Coast. The tour at Pompeii was excellent. Highly recommend this tour!

Great views, food, and history - I booked a solo day tour to Pompeii and Positano, Almafi Coast from Rome and it was fantastic! Pompeii was amazing, I would definitely recommend getting a guided tour while there. Fabio was my driver and was very friendly and thoughtful. He took pictures, showed us the best spots, and even bought us a yummy local snack. Postiano was a highlight and a place that I will return to. I recommend this trip for anyone looking to pack a lot of Italy into one day!

Nice day but long. - It’s a very long day but get to see some lovely sights. Our driver Fabio was good but a bit more explanation about places we are going past would be great. In January most places in Positano are closed. Had a limoncello tasting which was good.

Great day trip - Great trip. Perfect day trip from Rome to Pompeii and the coast! Driver was nice and stopped us along the way for a bathroom break. After Pompeii we stopped along the coast for photos. The only down side was the traffic on the way back to Rome. Took us 3 to 4 hours to get back to Rome. Uncontrollable and not upset about it. Would recommend!

Great day - We booked this through Tripadvisor. We had Fabio with us the whole day who made us laugh, accomodate our needs, and was really kind. He showed us the beautiful town of Positano. Be mindful you need to choose the choice of Pompeii ticker otherwise you will have to pay 20 euro for this. Wonderful day

BEWARE - Travelled as far as Pompei and was offered to stop for us to purchase tickets but heavy rain meant this was pointless. Fabio then phoned his superior who said Positano road was closed off due to flooding, surely there is more than one way in ?? We then were offered instead of Positano to call in Napoli on way back from pompei, we did agree just to stretch our legs and get some refreshments. Very disappointed as this trip was cancelled and not an offer of a part/full refund off the company so be aware when you book. We were left devastated as this was a special birthday treat.

THEY DON’T SHOW UP - if you really want to go on a day trip choose something else - THEY DIDN’T EVEN SHOW UP. DON’T BOOK WITH THEM! We got to the meeting point and waited a whole hour for them to get us until giving up we called trip advisor and the company that does these tours while we were waiting. The company didn’t answer and trip advisor told us to keep waiting for them. We were coming from tivoli and ended up getting a hotel in Rome just so we can do this tour and they didn’t even come. It was a waste of our time to book the hotel in Rome, check out of our other hotel early, transfer bags to our new hotel and get to the meeting point all of them not to show up. Completely disappointed with trip advisor as well. We were on the phone with them for 40 minutes and all the best they could do is just to give us a refund. There was another experience similar to this one for the same day but they were asking for $200 more than we paid rather than just comping the difference. If you really want to go on a day trip this is NOT THE ONE, YOU WONT BE GOING.
If they don’t meet the amount of people they will just cancel your trip. Also beware they will message you off of WhatsApp without notice, even if you don’t use WhatsApp 😑if they planned on not coming, why wouldn’t they tell trip advisor and why did trip advisor keep messaging me to get ready for my trip.
