Great guide, interesting place. - Our guide Sasha was great. We didn’t understand why we had to leave so early (7:30) and have a long breakfast break and then 2 hours later a lunch break (bad meal) and start the tour at about 1 pm. and head back about 4pm. Waste of time.

Very comfortable, very educational, Great Day ! - A fantastic day ! Samuela was a fantastic guide, very personable and talented in multiple languages. Our English speaking guide at Pompeii was fantastic too , also personable and well informed and interactive. Although Pompeii was only 2-2.5hours of the tour, it was enough to understand how incredible the city is and the lives that were lived there. With the guide, I felt like this was enough time to understand it. It was lovely to see the towns and castles along the way from the bus, the lunch food was nice at Pompeii. Nice to just sit back , relax and enjoy the day without worrying about where to go and what to do. Thank you ! Also very comfortable bus !

Franchesca did a great Job - This tour was really good an extremely worth what we are paying for. We started the tour from Rome and bus came to the meeting point right on time. Tour was lead by a nice lady name Franchesca and she did a great Job. She lead the tour really well until we get off the bus and she came to every table at lunch and asked if everything OK. End of the day, it was great tour to Pompei with them.

Interesting and good trip to Pompeii. - Really good trip to Pompeii. Very knowledgeable guides both on the buss and in the ruins. There was two bad things that can be easily fixed. The place chosen for our lunch was really bad. Very little taste and small portions. We also visited a jewellery workshop outside the ruins. I would much rather have that time in the ruins instead. We had a very good two hour guided tour in the ruins and 45 minutes on our own. I could easily have spent a whole day in there by myself, and every extra minute would have helped. I had to walk really fast to the other end to see the Amphitheatre and rush to make it back in time.

A very long day and not really worth it... - And here's why I titled this review that way. We joined the tour bus at 07:30am and drove down to Naples where we stopped to enjoy the view and take photos. All good so far. Then we stopped for lunch pizza or pasta, where a dude serenaded the group like an Italian mariachi boy, then shook his hat in my face for money. Not impressed. Then we got taken into a cameo jewellery factory and encouraged to buy something. Wasn't there to buy cameo, was there to see Pompeii. By the time we got to go through the gate, it was after 2pm. However. Once inside the gate, our guide was fantastic! Such a knowledgeable man, he's a teaching professor at the local University and actively works on digs at Pompeii and Herculaneum with his students. I wished I could have popped him in my pocket and taken him with me. Unfortunately, the weather didn't play nice and a huge thunderstorm cut short our time after the tour ended so we didn't get to explore Pompeii any further on our own. But what we did see was mind-blowing. A reason to return (under our own steam). The bus trip back was delayed by nearly 3 hours due to waiting for other passengers to come from another location to join our bus. Sitting in sodden clothes and shoes was miserable. We were not allowed to have hot drinks on the bus, understandable if the bus is moving but it wasn't... It was 9pm by the time we reached the meeting point again in Rome, and we were more than done with it by then. Tired, cold and hungry :( On the whole, I wouldn't recommend this tour, the whole excursion smacked of an organised tourist ripoff.

overpriced although guide was very good - the guide was excellent and took us to newer excavations not requiring long waits in queues - but otherwise the tour was disappointing, especially the lunch at a restaurant with a parking lot packed with tourbusses - we had paid almost 150 euros each with an expectation of a more personalized experience (and were majorly ticked off to discover that most of the people on the tour had paid a lot less for the same tour)

Not worth the time given - Did not enjoy most of this trip. Driving tour through Naples was pretty, and the lunch served nearby the Pompeii site was very good. Unfortunately, the time alloted was much too short to tour Pompeii. Much more walking than expected, I was unable to keep up the the group, and only got to see the first set of ruins. My husband stayed with group, but said the guide was trying to see as much in 30 minutes, simply not enough time . We were later surprised to find that our bus was taking on another 30 passengers to ride back to Rome with us, it was very cramped. Also thought we had a transfer back to our hotel, but was not the case. Overall, not a fun tour, won't go again.
