Fantastic day - First, the logistics The timing of the day was well appointed 9:15 start seemed very reasonable The high speed train was a great way to travel Size of the group (18 ppl) was nice Only hiccup was our initial meeting point in the train station was a cafe that was no longer in existence Our guide Fredericka was absolutely fantastic- great energy, sense humor, so knowledgeable The experience Pompeii itself is mind blowing.! We had already toured ancient Rome, Florence and Venice with great appreciation and amazement but Pompeii is fascinating and different. Especially because they keep discovering the city. Having a guide to explain what life was like and show us the highlights was so important- could not have appreciated it all if we went on our own. The walking tour in Pompeii was approx 2.5 hours then we went for a great lunch and wine tasting. Thoroughly enjoyable! Highly recommend!!!

If you want to see Pompeii (and you do!), this is the best way to go - Not only was Pompeii amazing, but this was the way to see it in a day from Rome! Reading negative reviews from travelers who had taken bus tours from Rome and complained of spending hours on the bus in traffic both ways led us to book this tour, and we couldn’t have been happier Comfortable ~75 minute high speed train ride followed by a short (but still comfortable) luxury shuttle bus trip, all facilitated by energetic and helpful ItaliaTours staff at both ends, got us to Pompeii relaxed and ready to explore. We then had a 3 hour guided tour through the maze like ruins of Pompeii, with the history, architecture, life and times of the people of 79AD all brought to life by our ItaliaTours guide, Ciara. Our whole family, 2 adults and three teen girls, were captivated by her knowledge and passion for Pompeii. The trip far exceeded our expectations and we all agreed it was an amazing experience (And that was before the amazing wine tasting on the slopes of Mt Vesuvius!)

As smooth as can be - This is an extremely smooth, well-planned daytrip experience. The entire day went without a hitch. Our guide in Pompeii, Ida, was knowledgeable, well prepared and very capable. The walking pace during the tour of the site was very comfortable, and we also got to see some of the current/new excavations underway. The lunch and wine tasting were excellent. I highly recommend this experience!

Rome to Pompeii Tour with Wine and Lunch by High-Speed Train- Excellent!!! - We had an amazing time with the best guide Antonio. Pompeii was amazing and Antonio knew the area very well so we saw loads and didn’t have to follow the crowds. Some very interesting insights to how life was in those days without sugar-coating it. The lunch and wine tasting was great, very good produce from the farm. We had a great time and would recommend this tour definitely!!!

Easy, fun way to see Pompeii from Rome! - Great day in Pompeii! Transportation worked well. The high-speed train is the way to go. Give yourself extra time at Termini to find meeting point and arrive by 8:45. They take it from there, and it is an easy day of sight seeing. Wish we could have spent more time exploring on own at Pompeii. The ruins are much more extensive than imagined, so using a tour guide is the way to go. The winery offered generous portions of delicious wine and food.
