Fantastic Pompeii - Very hard to differentiate between the best parts. Fantastic experience all round. Walking up Vesuvius was incredible and gave a different perspective of what happened. The only suggestion for improvement is to provide clearer advice on the lunch menu options, especially important for people with allergies to seafood.

Amazing - This is an a tour to do. An absolute must. Guides were decent. Sights were amazing. Only bad part of the whole tour is two hours in Pompeii is just not enough but it is a good taste.

Pompeii is great, but this tour was not well-planned - Pompeii was one of my most anticipated and favorite parts of our whole trip, but a lot of things about their tour could have been streamlined. We wasted hours of he day, with very minimal time off the bus, because of how the day was scheduled and sharing a duel-language guide. Pros: comfortable bus, sufficient stops for bathroom/coffee, the Pompeii tour itself was amazing. Cons: half our group was going to Capri, so we had to sit in very heavy Naples traffic to drop them off. The “panoramic tour of Naples” was essentially learning a bit here and there while sitting in the same traffic. It added very little of interest to the day. And after Pompeii, was had to sit in this same traffic again to pick them up. After Naples, we stopped at a coral/cameo factory. Although it was cool to see how it was done, it was all extremely expensive, unexpected, and felt very tourist-trappy. Again, wasted time I would’ve spent elsewhere. I didn’t book a Pompeii trip to buy cameos, and yet I had much more opportunity to do this than spend time around Pompeii. Communication and setting expectations in general could be much better- our guide didn’t tell us we were having a long multi-course lunch, didn’t tell the tour group where to meet the bus at multiple stops. Throughout the day, there were two languages needed for our tour group. This was fine on the bus- however in Pompeii, it meant our guide had to say everything twice before moving on. I can only imagine how much more we may have seen (Pompeii is HUGE) if we didn’t spend twice as much time on explanations as other groups. Our guide was great otherwise!

Great trip to Pompeii with lousy food - Fantastic place to visit (pompeii), great guide. Showed us the ruins and had a high level of knowledge about the place. Due to bad weather we couldnt see to much of Naples. The lunch restarount was a dissaster, try to avoid it. No charm and not much taste in the food.

A well arrange day trip to Pompeii - I and my family had a great experience and enjoyed a day trip to pompileii from Rome. Tour leader Alvirno and Pompeii local tour guide, Guido made the day very interesting with his deep knowledge on pompeii and Nepoli's history and communication in english. The perfect timing of event schedule and delicious Lunch made our day. I will use GLT for my trips in future.

Interesting excursion - The ruins of Pompeii are worth discovering, but I would recommend that anyone who wants to do so choose the train trip option, for a two-hour tour, you lose the entire day by bus

Could have been 5 stars... - The tour was amazing. We went to Naples for a while, and then to Pompeii and saw all of the ancient ruins. Our guide, Eleonora (bless her heart), was friendly, charismatic, and responsible. Couldn't have asked for anyone better. Her colleague, Richard, was also very kind and helpful. The guy who led us around Naples and Pompeii, Guido, was amazing and funny. Our first bus driver, Luca, was safe and professional. However, this is where the bad part comes in. The second bus driver, Daniel, was rude, reckless, and incompetent. He didn't speak a lick of English, which made it impossible to communicate. We were supposed to be dropped off at our hotel around 8:30 p.m. (20:30), but we didn't arrive for another two hours. Daniel did not ever stop near our hotel, had to ask for directions on at least 4 separate occasions, and nearly took out some stop lights because he turned onto a narrow road. He then begins driving to what was apparently the final stop, which was a hotel all the way out near Fiumicino Intl. airport. First of all, he didn't even know how to get there, secondly, when he saw that we were still on the bus, he tried to kick us off. He claimed that he stopped near where we were staying (totally false), and argued that he was supposed to drop us off at a certain plaza. He then called his boss, who then reaffirmed that he was wrong. Finally, he goes back to his seat and drives back to Old Rome, but doesn't even drop us off at the right hotel. We got off anyway because we couldn't stand his attitude or idiocy. We took a cab and got there in 5 minutes. Long story short: Great tour, amazing leader (Elle), fun guide (Guido), and good driver (Luca). Daniel was a horrible driver with a bad attitude. He needs to be fired. If it weren't for him, my review would be 5 stars, but unfortunately, that experience brought the rating down.

The worst tour I've been on - This was absolutely the worst tour I've taken. It was supposed to be bilingual, but it was very clear the guide was more comfortable speaking Spanish because only about 20 percent of the tour was in English. So we were just wondering around looking at stuff but had no idea what we were looking at. And they made us stop for what seemed like forever at a store just for shopping. Don't waste your time or money on this. It was my least favorite day on our trip.

Do not go on this tour :( - We started out in Rome with a great guide. In Nopales the guilds changed to Guido who’s English and Spanish was not comprehensible his choice of words lack of vocabulary made it very difficult to understand. We booked and English speaking tour but it was also translated into spanish. This was unfair to both languages because if we could have understood our guild we missed out on half a tours worth of information because it was beings translated to another language. The tour was pointless because we could not understand what he was saying in either language. It would have been better to get the audio guild from Pompei and go at our own pace. We also made wasted a lot time driving around Napoles with Guido not understand what we were seeing or why. The weird stop the Jewlery store was much less of a demonstration on the traditional craftsmanship then a sales opportunity with less then personable sales staff. This was an 13 hour waste of time and money, we missed out really learning the fascinating history of Naples and Pompei! I only hope we have the opportunity to return to Italy to try again.
