Your class will be held in a historic eatery, housed in a captivating 12th-century building featured in Stanley Tucci’s TV show “Searching for Italy.” Enjoy signature dishes like cacio e pepe and amatriciana, accompanied by free-flowing wine. Meet your host in Piazza Mattei, a gem among Rome’s squares, located in the heart of the charming Jewish Ghetto. Your host will assist you throughout the experience, translating for the chef and sharing tips, history, and legends about the Jewish district and its unique culinary style. You’ll learn to make homemade pasta from scratch, clean and prepare seasonal vegetables for frying, such as artichokes or zucchini flowers. Prepare two types of sauces from fresh ingredients, then challenge yourself to cook the perfect pasta under the chef’s supervision. Sit down to enjoy your creations along with the “chef’s gift”: the famous ricotta cheesecake. The food provided is enough to cover your dinner. This experience is suitable for everyone, including kids, vegans, and vegetarians. Please note that the restaurant and food provided are not kosher.

Immerse yourself in the effortless, cheerful lifestyle! Discover the stories and legends surrounding the Jewish district and its distinctive culinary style.
You’ll acquire the skills to make homemade pasta from raw ingredients, unravel the process of cleansing and prepping seasonal vegetables for frying such as artichokes or zucchini blossoms and other wonderful fresh veggies for the classic ‘fritto romano.’ Culminating the session, taste the delectable torta di ricotta e visciola, a renowned ricotta cheesecake comprising simple yet luscious ingredients.
