Highlights
  • Circus Maximus - The Circus Maximus is an ancient Roman stadium used for chariot racing. Situated in the valley between the Aventine and Palatine hills, it was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome. It measured 621 meters (2,037 feet) in length and 118 meters (387 feet) in width, with a capacity of over 150,000 spectators.
  • Terme di Caracalla - The Baths of Caracalla were the second largest Roman public baths in the city, following the Baths of Diocletian. Likely constructed between AD 212 (or 211) and 216/217, during the reigns of emperors Septimius Severus and Caracalla, they remained in use until the 530s before falling into disrepair.
  • Porta San Sebastiano - The Porta San Sebastiano is the largest and one of the best-preserved gates in the Aurelian Walls of Rome.
  • Catacombs of Saint Callixtus - The Catacombs of Callixtus are among the Catacombs of Rome located on the Appian Way, situated in a pleasant, almost pedestrian-friendly area.
  • Circus of Maxentius - The Circus of Maxentius is an ancient Roman structure in Rome, Italy, part of a complex built by Emperor Maxentius on the Via Appia between AD 306 and 312.
  • Mausoleo di Cecilia Metella e Castrum Caetani - Parco Archeologico dell’Appia Antica - The Tomb of Caecilia Metella is one of the most renowned and well-preserved monuments along the Via Appia, constructed in the 1st century BC to honor Caecilia Metella, daughter of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Creticus.
  • Appian Way (Via Appia Antica) - The Appian Way, the first highway ever built, was initiated in 312 BC by Roman censor Appius Claudius Caecus. On our small group e-bike tour of the Appian Way, you will see just a few of the total 365, but we’re sure you’ll love them.
  • Ninfeo di Egeria - Egeria was a nymph who played a legendary role in early Roman history as a divine consort and advisor to Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome, imparting laws and rituals of ancient Roman religion. Her name has become synonymous with a female advisor or counselor.
  • Parco Della Caffarella - The Caffarella Park is a vast green space in the heart of Rome, part of the Parco Regionale Appia Antica. The Caffarella Valley is bordered by the Via Latina to the north and the Appian Way to the south.
