Highlights
  • Spanish Steps - Beat the busy crowds and the hustle and bustle of city life as your early morning tour will take you through the Roman streets. Visit the Spanish Steps in the morning light to admire their beauty, before making your way through the winding cobble stone streets.
  • Trevi Fountain - Your small group and expert guide will continue on towards the famous Trevi Fountain, and learn of the architect Nicola Salvi who built it. Pictures do not do the fountain justice, and seeing it in person will truly help you absorb the beauty and fine skill it took to create it. Enjoy capturing the moment with plenty of space and without the worry of other tourists in the way as you take advantage of the early morning hours.
  • Piazza Venezia - Continue onto the beautiful Piazza Venezia with its grandiose Monument to the Country, the Altare della Patria - a monument built in the late 1800’s early 1900’s as a celebration of the unification of Italy.
  • Pantheon - Admire the Pantheon in the early morning light, You will truly get a feel for the local life here while most tourists are fast asleep and Romans are enjoying their coffee and cornetto before work.

A former pagan temple transformed into a Christian church, the Pantheon is nearly 2000 years old, and still an active place of worship today. Inside the church lay the tombs of famous Renaissance artist Raphael and King Vittorio Emmanuele - just to name a few.

  • Piazza della Rotonda - In Italy it’s completely acceptable to have sweets for breakfast, and it wouldn’t be a true Italian morning without a stop at a local bar for cappuccino and cornetto! With a variety to choose from and a cup of espresso or cappuccino, it is sure to give you the energy you need to enjoy the rest of your day in Rome.
  • Piazza Navona - A walking tour of Rome would not be complete without a visit to Piazza Navona - arguably one of the most beautiful and most visited squares in Rome. In the centre lays Bernini’s Four River’s Fountain, and surrounding it are the many shops, restaurants and bars that frame the piazza.

A fabulous morning walking tour - Early morning tours in July are the way to go! Very few tourists were out and we were so fortunate that they were clearing people away to clean the Trevi Fountain and we were able to get right to the front! Brando was an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable and gave us many hidden facts about the things we saw along our walk. We got right into the Pantheon, with no waiting in line, just shortly after it opened for the day. We enjoyed our time with Brando and I would highly recommend this tour.

Andy is great friendly informative host. Shared extensive knowledge of Rome with us in an energetic sunrise tour - Sunrise walking tour to beat the crowds with Andy is a great experience. Andy showed us a plethora of ancient sites and shared little known facts we never would have known on our own. Beginning at 7 am we avoided the crowds and since it was the 1st Sunday of the month, museum entry was gratis. Due to a weather delay, we luckily entered the Pantheon with no wait. Andy explained the origins of two of Rome’s great architects and the works they each created throughout Rome. Always an engaging & entertaining host, we truly enjoyed our morning with Andy. Highly recommend this informative, fun tour.

Private walking tour - worthwhile! - Enjoyed a private sunset walking tour very much - Andy knew the city well and shared both history and legend! He had secured tickets for the Pantheon, which was unexpected and welcome, and we stopped at a church to see a Caravaggio and a Raphael up close. All in all, a terrific and personal way to see the city.

LivTours Early Morning Walking Tour with Andy Exceeded Expectations - This early morning walking tour was a hightlight of our trip. We met Andy at the Spanish Steps and the location was easy to find and he was on-time and easily identified. The views of all the highlights, including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Parthenon, and Tragon's Column, were stunning and felt much more personal and private without the crowds of midday. But even better than the photo opportunities was Andy's wonderful storytelling as we walked the city streets, sharing the significance and human aspects of these sites and the rivalry between Bernini and Borromini. Rather than a random collection of interesting ruins, fountains and obelisks, Andy helped place them in history for us, and did so in such an engaging way that even the non-museum members of our group were leaning in. Andy was also respectful and kind with a member of our group who had mobility issues, and consistently and naturally kept a manageable pace that ensured her comfort and full participation. We felt very fortunate to have had a guide of Andy's caliber and the time flew by.

Amazing Morning Walking Tour! Must do! - Had an amazing early morning walking tour with Andy. He was super knowledgeable and fun. He also gave a lot of great recommendations for us to check out on our own. We got to see a lot without many crowds since it was early. Would highly recommend especially early on in your trip to get the lay of the land.

LIV Sunset Tour of Rome - Although the streets of Rome were crowded due to the Immaculate Conception holiday weekend, this tour was EXCEPTIONAL. Alessandra met us at the designated spot and deftly guided us to many of the must see sights in Rome which were absolutely beautiful at night; it included the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, the archaeological site near Piazza Navona, and Piazza Navona. Her knowledge of the sights and her story telling ability made Rome new again for us; even if you've been to Rome before this tour is worth it. We even managed to get in a peak at St Ignacio at Alessandra's impromptu suggestion; it was on our list for later in the week but it was so special to see it with someone who knew exactly what we were looking for/ at. Her tips for return visits to the sites were awesome, and the gelato stop was delicious ( the gelato at home is just not the same so the treat was much appreciated). We have an excellent set of photos from the night, and she did not hesitate to ask if we wanted a photo at a stop. In short, this was an exceptional tour with an exceptional guide and we highly recommend it.
