This tour comprises an immersive Virtual Reality session that will transport you to the heart of ancient Rome.
This intimate group tour caters to a maximum of eight participants, ensuring your guide can provide personalized interaction and guidance.
- This Tour is provided in English
- • All riders must be at least 16 years old, in accordance with Italian law. If you have children under 16 in your group, they will not be able to participate, and will not be eligible for a refund.
- Riders must have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance.
- It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. Please do not carry large bags whilst on the Segway.
- Please bring proof of identification with your confirmation voucher
- Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- All participants must weigh at least 90lbs (40kgs).

Your tour meets at our office, located at Via dei Delfini 35/36, 00186 Rome. We are located about 150 meters from Piazza Venezia (a 5 minute walk) and 1.5 km from the Colosseum (approximately a 15 minute walk). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure.

Whistle stop tour highly recommended - A great way to see the city! Guide was very informative, helpful and willing to take pics at many stopping points - great as I was on a solo trip. I would certainly not have covered as much distance on foot as I did on this tour. Highly recommended.

One not to miss - A definite must when in Rome. Alessandro was our tour guide and he made the whole experience fun, enjoyable and educational. He used VR goggles and an iPad to really enhance the whole experience and immerse you in the history of this amazing city. Coupled with the fun and excitement of being on a Segway this is an absolute must do while in Rome.

Fun - This was a highlight of our time in Rome ! Lorena was the perfect guide . The segways are fun and you won't be long getting used to them . Wonderful uphill , down hill and zipping past the collosseum . Don't hesitate to book . Fat Tire Tours are professional and brilliant at their job . Thank you from us for the memories 🙏

Definitely a must! - We went out at 2.30pm on the segways with Marika, we did a little safety brief and practice. Marika was lovely and had great knowledge of all the sites we was taken to, she didn't go too fast either so it was easy to take things in. This was the first thing we did when we arrived to Rome which is a fab way of seeing alot of attractions in the 2.5 hours and good fun too! I defo recommend doing this tour.

A Fabulous and Fun Way to See Rome - We absolutely loved this tour. We had no previous experience of a Segway, but within minutes of the familiarisation we were competent and comfortable. Ileni was a wonderful guide, setting a comfortable and safe pace, and providing plenty of stops at the places of interest with great commentary via the in-ear radios throughout.
We went on a Sunday morning and with lower traffic density, fewer pedestrians and the main road to the Colisseum closed to traffic on Sundays, it proved a perfect choice. It was also a fabulous feeling to climb Rome's hills effortlessly, overtaking pedestrians trekking up in the heat.
The VR was interesting too - particularly at the Forum, as it gave a good idea of the scale of the place.
We didn't see all the attractions detailed in the tour notes online, but we didn't feel too disappointed as we did see the Orange Garden which we hadn't previously heard about, but was well worth the visit. Highly recommend this tour.

Amazing!!! - This tour was amazing the guide had a great English and he was very knowledgeable. He was very interactive and extremely interesting. The Segway part was very worth it, he takes you to places you wouldn’t usually have the energy or patience to climb to.

Great Way to See the City at Night (Shoutout to Alessandro!) - This was a great tour, would highly recommend! It was a really nice way to see Rome, and the city is especially beautiful at night! Our guide, Alessandro, was super knowledgeable, fun, and good at teaching us how to use the Segways and navigate the roads. VR experience was cool too
