Get your walking shoes on! - Get ready to spend the day doing a LOT of walking. There is a lot to see and a lot of walking for one day. My wife and I are in our 50's and this was a lot for us. If you're not in shape, this tour isn't for you. (At the end of the day, my wife and I logged almost 9 miles walked, including our travel to the meeting location). Also, if you can do so, this trip is probably best in the off season. There were so many people when we went, it was a little overwhelming at times, and we went at the beginning of October. I can only imagine what it is like during the summer months. We had a different guide for the two different tours. Both were very knowledgeable and were very thorough in describing the history and details of everything they were showing us. Our morning guide was great! I can't remember her name, but she did her best to learn all of our names and about our small group of about 18. We started at 8:15 in the morning and went pretty much non-stop at the Colosseum and grounds until about 12:30pm. My wife and I were the only one's continuing with the Vatican tour and she pointed us to some nice restaurants for lunch near the tour office, near the Colosseum. After lunch we stopped at the tour office where a driver was waiting to take us to the meetup point for the Vatican, about a 30-minute drive away. That was an experience in itself. I would never be able to handle driving in Rome, very chaotic. Our driver easily maneuvered the traffic to our destination in no time. Our Vatican tour was very thorough too. There was quite a bit I wish we could have seen, but with how packed and busy it was, our guide ensured to show us the main points and knew how to weave us through the crowds without much resistance and show us what she could. That tour ended at 5:30pm The only bad thing I have to say about this excursion is that when I initially booked it, it was scheduled for a 9:30am start time. The tour operator reached out to us a couple of months beforehand that it had been moved to 8:00am. I understand now with how long the tour is why it was changed. The part that sucked for us was that we were staying in Ladispoli, which was about an hour and a half train and metro ride to the meetup location, so we had to get up very early. (5:00am) That combined with railway issues, we barely made it there in time. If you book this tour, ensure that you are staying close by, not far away and trying to use their public transportation during morning rush hour.

Nice experience! - I loved Grayline, we only needed to be called a day before our reservations, as the tickets say. Our tours and guides very good.

Walking Tour - This walking tour covered all the areas listed in the itinerary. Our guides were knowledgeable, efficient, and punctual. Tips for summer tour - READ AND FOLLOW THEIR TIPS! *Arrive on time. *Wear comfortable, appropriate clothing for entry to religious sites, wear comfortable shoes & sunscreen, and bring water! The only reason I gave this tour a four instead of a five is that I had to remind the guide that we were on the full-day tour, which included a transfer. Without my reminders at the beginning and end of the first half of the tour, we would not have been transferred to the second portion.

Not the tour we were hoping for - Walking too fast, talking too fast, only one ear bud couldnt hear couldnt understand tour guide with accent. Too many people, too little time for pictures, eating or shopping. Rush rush to everything, gave us 15 minutes to lunch

ABSURD WANTING TIME AND LEONINO - Horrible! Waiting time is absurd. They say there's a bus every 15 minutes, but we waited in line for more than two hours and when he arrived, he said he couldn't get on the bus because it was already full.

Trip from HELL....ROME, ITALY. Vatican & Colosseum tour. - This was the WORST tour we have ever been on. REF:BR-113569223, This was a Colosseum-Vatican tour. First the driver who was pick us up was 35 minutes late we then went another hotel to pick up people, the driver waited 35 min and no one showed up. We got to the colosseum and the tour guide was nice, but did not work for trip advisor. Since we where running late, she said she had to finish by 1100hrs. We where rushed through our tour, then she told us that we would have to wait across the street for 2 hours (97 degrees ) to have someone pick us up for the Vatican tour, we just could NOT do this .. We called a cab and went back to our hotel. I called Viator and told them what we did. Sorry, would not come and get us or refund and money. I will NEVER plan a trip with Trip Advisor again, I also recommend to everyone not to use them.
