Fantastic walking tour of Rome - Like the last traveller who went on this Walkative! tour to the Jewish Quarter and Trastevere in Rome with Laura, we were absolutely delighted with our experience. It was so informative and interesting. Laura clearly knows a lot about the ancient and modern history of Rome, and it just made everything come to life. It was of the right length (slightly shorter than advertised), and we had enough time to absorb the views and take in the information. We would strongly recommend this tour.

Walk with Jost - the best! - My husband and I started our honeymoon with a walkative tour hosted by Jost. Having done free walking tours before, I can hands down say that this was the BEST walking tour we’ve ever done. Jost was funny, informative and so knowledgeable! Can’t recommend enough!

Great Walkative Waling Tour - We have done a few Walkative tours (in Poland) and have been very pleased with the quality of the tours and the knowledge of the guides. This tour, From the Jewish Ghetto to Trastevere - Discovering Rome’s Hidden Gems, was no exception. Laura was a great guide, effectively sharing the history of the area. It was apparent that she has invested a good deal of time and effort to learn about the history of the area and she imparted her knowledge in an engaging way. She had a nice, relaxed approach and welcomed questions. This helped enrich the experience. Laura encouraged us take a break (which was welcome on a fairly warm day) at a wonderful gelato shop, which was a great suggestion. I look forward to my next Walkative tour, as I am confident that I can count on having an entertaining learning experience.

Great guide, very informative! - We were so tired from our flight but managed to find the meeting point in time to make the tour. Our guide from the Netherlands, so sorry I didn't catch your name, we were so tired, but you were great! While it was a lot of walking, we learned so much! On our first day in rome we were offered a plethora of history and culture and a nice idea of the lay of the land for the rest of our stay in Roma. Would highly recommend!

We loved this tour - We took several Walkative tours in Europe already and were always amazed by the quality of the tours and how knowledgeable the guides are. This one was no exception. Henk was showing us around the Jewish Quarter and Trastevere and we also brushed the history of the Theatre of Marcellus and the Forum Romanum. History can to life and Henk explained it all in a very entertaining way, even including excursions to Napoleon and the Italian health system. Any questions were answered and we learned a lot during the tour. I can only recommend it to anyone interested in going beyond Lonely Planet and the “audio guide“, you will really enjoy it!

Amazing walking tour of rome - 10/10 walking tour, took us to most of the main sites in the centre. Hank was an excellent tour guide, took us round at a lovely pace and was very knowledgable. The group was very patient when me and my partner got slightly lost coming back from the trevi fountain. Don’t hesitate to book, a great tour to do if you’ve never been to Rome before :)

Underwhelming experience - We chose the True Rome Tour – An Italian Dolce Vita to explore the lesser-known places and to learn about Rome's history and daily life of its inhabitants. We were 1 hour early at the Monument of Giuseppe Mazzini and spend some time enjoying the morning sun when waiting for our guide Laura. About 20 other participants joined and sat with us on the steps of the monument wondering when our guide would come. After a while I found a contact number of Walkative Rome and asked about the whereabouts of our guide. Allegedly, she had been on the street next to the monument and none of us had seen the bright yellow umbrella. Part of the group stayed another half an hour for Laura to come to the monument. The tour itself was underwhelming in our opinion. We would have liked more interesting landmarks instead of the closed rose garden and the biggest abattoir of its time which was not accessible because of renovations. Also, we struggled to find our way back to our accommodation as the finale area of the tour is not on the common map of the Rome centre area. Hopefully this feedback will help to improve this particular tour.
