Amazing family tour in Rome - Mariaclaudia was very responsive to my emails and explained everything in detail. Though she was not available during Christmas, she organised another guide, Simona, who was amazing in her ability to mobilise the attention of my 3 daughters (11, 16, 18). The tour in my case was for Colosseum and aimed for families with kids. Besides being able to get tickets, which otherwise is very difficult, the tour was very interactive and interesting. If I would have taken the kids by myself, it would have been another "boring historical" experience for them. This way, it made it memorable for kids and adults alike. I never take such guides in Europe, but this time was a great thing to do. Thank you Simona for the tour and thank you Mariaclaudia for arranging it and also recommending other things in Rome.

Family Uffizi tour with Martina - Martina was an excellent tour guide of the Uffizi. Since we were traveling with our 2 kids, ages 7 and 10, we were worried that the art and history on display at the Uffizi would be lost on them and they would be bored. But Martina was so captivating that 2 hours went by so fast, nobody even realized how! She made it incredibly engaging for the kids by making the whole tour a game, where she asked questions and gave points to the kids for spotting paintings, identifying subjects in the paintings, talking about the methods involved in the painting and the painters and their history and asking questions about that too! The kids were focused the whole time and learnt a lot about art, history, artists and the paintings and Florence/Medici too! We also learnt a lot in the process and it was enjoyable to go through a museum with kids and not feel like we are torturing them :). In fact, this was the highlight of the whole Italy trip for both kids! Highly recommend Martina for tours with kids!!

Absolutely one of the BEST tour guides - Wow. Wow in so many aspects. The Vatican Musuem and its history is, well, very overwhelming. But this tour allowed for my husband, thirteen year old son, ten year old daughter and myself get a good understanding of the history and see the most important parts of the museum including the Sistine Chapel. We fortunately had Mariaclaudia as our guide and boy, did she bring it. From the moment we first met at the entrance to our final fairwells, she had so much energy. She brought excitement, especially for my kids, to make learning about the Vatican Museum exciting and motivating. She had such rich stories to share with lots of visuals to help us connect and understand. She definitely WOW-ed us. I couldn’t recommend any other way to visit the Vatican. (Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to the basilica because it was closed during our visit time. Since it was Easter week, there was a mass that was happening).

Possibly the best tour we have ever done - We did a Percy Jackson tour at the Capitoline Museum with MariaClaudia on Saturday. Maria was so engaging with kids and so knowledgable. They had so much fun racing around the rooms finding clues and deciphering ancient texts. I would highly recommend this tour if you have kids who are about 10-12 years of age and are into all things Ancient Greek and Roman

A worthwhile investment - My 10 year old twins and myself loved our private tour of Pompeii. Danielle was knowledgeable and made the tour especially interesting for my children, and for myself! Danielle also showed us the nearby bus stop for Vesuvius. I highly recommend if you wish to see the best of Pompeii in a few hours and be fascinated by their life.

A fantastic family tour of Rome! - My family and I (myself, husband and two boys aged 8 & 10) spent a fantastic morning with Maria today touring some of the beautiful sites of Rome. From the moment we met her, Maria was so lovely, personable and friendly. She immediately formed a rapport with our two boys and had them engaged with her stories about the different sites we visited and excited about winning points for their team whether that was by finding hidden signs/ pictures or answering her trivia questions about places such as the Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon. Her breadth of knowledge and the level that she pitched the tour at was absolutely perfect for our two kids. And adding the competitive element between adults and children meant that the whole family was interested and entertained for the whole time of the tour. We barely noticed the time passing we were enjoying ourselves so much! We all came away from the tour talking about how much we had learnt about Rome and its history but in a lovely accessible way. I couldn’t recommend Maria more highly for any families who are wanting to see the sights in a way that works for both adults and children. We only wish that we had booked some other tours with her so we could enjoy hearing more about this beautiful city from her!

One of the best holiday activities we have ever done - Maria might just be the greatest tour guide in Rome. If not Europe. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children (aged 5 and 7) and we joined Maria for two separate activities. She has a novel approach to giving tours: a constant quiz and scavenger hunt (with points and prizes!) to keep kids and adults alike engaged. Even adults with a decent knowledge of Roman history will find new sights and learn new things. On our first morning in Rome she took us on a tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum. This tour lasted nearly three hours and she kept us all happy and engaged (even the 5 year old, in pouring rain) through the whole time. She knows all the best spots and actively rewards inquisitive children and all of their questions. She seems to adore children, and knows exactly how to pitch her tours to them, without boring or condescending the adults. On our second morning we met at the Trevi Fountain for a tour through the centre of Rome to Piazza Novana via the Pantheon and all sorts of other areas. I have visited Rome several times previously (although this was the first visit with our children) and thought I’d seen almost everything - how wrong was! Maria was able to surprise us constantly. Throughout the tours, Maria kept track of the scores for the quizzes and scavenger hunts on her iPad, and had prizes for the winners at the end of each day. Somehow (!) the children won against the grown ups on each day. The second day culminated in a mad dash around Piazza Novana trying to find all sorts of things. I cannot recommend these tours enough. They are not cheap - but nor should they be. This is a high quality tour with an expert who really keeps kids and families engaged. I have no doubt she’d also be great with groups of adults. This is a must-do activity in Rome and we could not be more grateful for Maria’s knowledge and enthusiasm.

Highly Recommended for Kid/Family Friendly Tours in Italy! - We are a family of four (boys 15 & 10 years old) and had a total of 5 private tours with Mariaclaudia back in early November/early December 2023 and all were wonderful! The private tours we did were :- 1) Uffizi Museum Tour, Florence 2) Pompeii tour, Pompeii 3) Vatican & Sistine Chapel Tour, Rome 4) 1.5hr Colosseum Tour, Rome 5) Percy Jackson @ Capitoline Museum, Rome It was easy communicating with Mariaclaudia via email/whatsapp to sort out the tour schedules. The tours started right on time and the tour activities conducted were very engaging for my 2 boys. We certainly had a lot of fun with the scavenger hunts and our boys surprised us with their quick reactions and knowledge. Mariaclaudia and her team of guides were simply warm, friendly and wonderful! We had the honor to meet Mariaclaudia herself for the Colosseum tour!

Highly recommend! - We joined Mariaclaudia after a long morning at the Colosseum with another tour. Kids had been walking a good deal by then and yet most never complained once during the tour because they were preoccupied with the competition and information. It was nice to see the big sites (like the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona) and learn some history along the way which kept us adults happy as well.

Highly recommend this tour! - Mariaclaudia was a fantastic guide and made our tour so entertaining for my 10 year old twins. They loved the treasure hunt (even with jetlag) and we learnt a lot about the history of Rome along the way. It was such a great tour that we booked in for a tour at the Colosseum too.
