- Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo - Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome was initially constructed as the tomb of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 135 AD. This mausoleum was eventually converted into a military fortress that safeguarded Rome during the Middle Ages.
- Piazzale Garibaldi - If you’re fortunate enough to book the morning tour at 12, Francesco will take you to witness an incredible spectacle: the cannon shot atop the Janiculum Hill. This daily tradition dates back to the 19th century when it was used to synchronize the city’s clocks. As you approach the Janiculum, you can feel the excitement building. Francesco explains the history of the cannon shot and its significance to the city. When the moment arrives, you hear the loud boom of the cannon and watch as the smoke clears to reveal a breathtaking view of Rome. From the top of the Janiculum, you can see all the major landmarks of the city, from the Colosseum to the Pantheon to St. Peter’s Basilica. The view is truly magnificent, and you feel as if you’re on top of the world.
- Fontana dell’Acqua Paola - Francesco will take you to one of the most stunning fountains in all of Rome: the Fontanone. Located atop the Janiculum Hill, the Fontanone offers a panoramic view of the entire city. As you approach the Fontanone, the beauty of the scenery takes your breath away. You can see the winding Tiber River, the dome of the Pantheon, and the majestic Vittoriano in the distance. Francesco parks the red Vespa, and you take a moment to soak in the view.
- Trastevere - Imagine riding through the winding streets of Trastevere on your lively red Vespa. The sun shines down on you, casting a warm glow on the pastel-colored buildings and cobblestone streets. As you navigate the side streets, you feel the breeze in your hair and the thrill of adventure in your heart. While exploring the neighborhood, you can’t help but be amazed by the beauty of the colorful flowers in bloom. The scent of the flowers fills the air, and you feel as if you’ve been transported to a romantic movie set.
- Piazza Navona - The square is built on the site of the ancient Stadium of Domitian and is rich in history and culture. You’ll be immediately struck by the stunning Fountain of the Four Rivers, which occupies the center of the square. The fountain was designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, one of the most famous artists in Italian history, and is a true masterpiece of Baroque art. As you approach the fountain, you can see the intricate details of the four figures representing the great rivers of the world: the Nile, the Danube, the Ganges, and the Rio de la Plata. Each figure is expertly crafted, and you can’t help but be impressed by the artistic skill and craftsmanship with which they were created. Francesco will tell you more about the history of the fountain and its significance to the city, sharing fascinating stories about Bernini.
- Spanish Steps - Piazza di Spagna is renowned for its picturesque beauty and is famous worldwide. As you climb each step, you’ll be surrounded by the history and extraordinary architecture of Rome. From the top of the Spanish Steps, you can admire the beauty of the city from a completely new perspective. Be amazed by the panoramic views of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, including the charming streets, ancient ruins, and historic buildings.
- Trevi Fountain - The iconic Trevi Fountain. As you approach the fountain, you’ll be struck by the vastness and grandeur of the structure. The fountain is massive, with intricate carvings and sculptures that tell the story of the Roman god Oceanus and his sea horses. You’ll learn about the tradition of tossing a coin over your shoulder into the fountain, which is said to bring good luck and ensure that you’ll return to Rome one day. You’ll take a moment to toss a coin into the fountain, hoping the legend is true and that you’ll have the chance to return to this beautiful city someday. Not the best customers service 😊 - Was met by a rude, suppressive male at the Pick-up point who got threatening and personal, when I tried to get a refund because the time got changed last minute from the company. I normally never review anything, but this experince I will not wish for anybody else to go through. Take care!
