Awesome shuttle from Rome to Civitavecchia: Civitavecchia to FCO - We used the shared shuttle to go from our hotel in Rome to the Cruise port in Civitavecchia and then from Civitavecchia to the Airport (FCO). The driver was professional and on time. We arrived at both locations ahead of schedule.

Will use again next time we cruise. - We did nit know what time the disembarkation would be, so we chose a later time. We were off the ship at 8:30am. We grabbed our luggage and went outside. To our surprise, the driver was there waiting. He took us to a Mercedes wagon, and brought directly to FCO. It was booked as a shared ride, but we were the only passengers. No up-charge, just great service.

Shared Shuttle is the way to go! - We used the SHARED SHUTTLE service 3 times in 10 days and were very pleased! We went from the airport to the city centre, from the city to the cruise port and from the cruise to the airport. Each time, the drivers arrived early and had a sign with our name on it so that we could find them easily. Their driving skills were excellent. I read some horror stories but we experienced none of that! We allowed extra time to others to be picked up and it wasn’t needed. The price was way better than private transfers and we didn’t need to navigate lugging our luggage through a train station. I have already recommended them to friends and would definitely book them again while in Rome.

Normally quite good but this time - They are usually very reliable, but we were at Pier 25 but the last shuttle this time. So we had to wait until they were finished at the Terminal Americo Vespucci before they could come over to Pier 25. We are used to getting a Text message and the day before an e-mail showing the driver's contact information. But we did not get anything this time. This time, Luca was driving us, who usually works in the back office. He explained that they had a new software, and the notification did not work. But no phone call? It was no fun to wait more than 30 minutes when outside was nearly 38°C/100F in the sun without air conditioning and if everyone was on the jump to get to the airport. I hope they will improve their service again. Otherwise, I need to find an alternative service.

Straightforward other than one issue - Only had to wait 20 minutes or so for the second family. Minibus was a bit tight for 8 but otherwise all worked fine. My only issue was that the driver (while driving at speed on the motorway) used his phone to text on four or five occasions (and more than a one letter/word reply). This may perhaps be legal in Italy but I personally don't think it's safe to text while you have a van of passengers.

Watch for this Bait and Switch scam! - Was quoted, in writing, €105.00 for transfer from Rome hotel to Civitavecchia for private transfer and if shared it would be €95.00. On arrival of the shuttle at the hotel, while the driver was loading the baggage into the van, got a call telling me that the price would now be €140 as they had some sort of emergency and had to contract another service. The emergency was a very typical “bait and switch” as at that point there was no way to seek any other means of transfer to our destination. Reluctantly we took the shuttle and paid the driver the €140 who was very nice and apologetic for the issue he had no control of. When I contacted the shuttle service regarding this issue I was very rudely told that they could have simply canceled the trip and we would have had to pay for taxi service, and any way it was only €35 more euros. To state poor customer service would be an understatement! Stay clear and beware. I am sure it was not the first time and will probably not be the last time. Book with a reputable company.
