The Vatican Museums public entrance is infamous for its incredibly long lines, which can be extremely frustrating especially if you have limited time. Thankfully, we have a solution! Our fast track tickets allow you to bypass the general admissions line and enter much quicker. This priority access ticket increases your time inside the Vatican by eliminating all the needless waiting around outside.
No Basilica Access
(A guide is only included If you have upgraded for a guided tour. The tour duration will be 2.5 hours including the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St.Peters Basilica)
- Reservations have strict timing. To join the tour, you are required to be at the meeting point for check-in at least 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time.
- If you arrive late for the meeting time, it will not be possible to join the group or reschedule, unless you pay for the activity again. As per “No Show” rules you will not be entitled to a refund.
- Knees & Shoulders MUST be covered for both men & women to enter the Sistine Chapel!
- All visitors must pass through the monument/attraction security check please allow at least 20 minutes to clear security.
- Please be aware that large bags/backpacks/suitcases are not permitted in the monument/ attraction. Only very small bags are allowed. Please do not bring these items with you on the day of your tour as there are no cloakrooms at the monument.
- Students booking a reduced ticket must have a photo ID, you must bring a photo ID to be allowed into the monument.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Very good visit with an outstanding Guide - Very pleasant visit: Marco, our Guide, was passionate and exciting, and explained well the complexity of Vatican museums, full of history, in perfect French, always smiling and ready to answer questions. A place of sacred and pagan art, breathtaking beauty. The Sistine Chapel was much bigger than I imagined. It was really nice to have a visit of this quality in French, in small groups, as some family members speak only French.

Amazing tour at the Vatican - Debra our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting for my husband and I and our teens. She gave us enough information without overloading us. The history and insights she gave us was amazing. We loved the tour and our teen kids say it was one of the best things they did on our holiday to Rome.

Knowledgeable guide, Fast walking, Lots of stairs - The tour was very good and the tour guide was knowledgeable. Skipping the line was worth the extra money especially since the heat was extreme.
It would have been better if the guide had a visual marker to keep track of her as she walked very fast and not everyone in our tour could keep up with her. She was not clear on where she was or was going and one of our party got lost. She also did not check to see if those who could not walk as fast or who were slower on stairs were still with the group.
It would also be helpful to be clear in the description how much walking is involved and the extensive stair navigating.

Find museum on your own, but worth skipping line - The description said a guide would take you to the entrance but when we checked in we were given a paper ticket and told to walk to the entrance. No escort or clear directions. It took us 15 minutes to figure out where exactly to find the museum entrance but it was great to walk directly to the front of the line.

DO NOT PURCHASE - When we arrived, they wouldn't accept our voucher. We arrived 1 hour ahead of the required time and claim "we never arrived". If we didn't arrive, then their office would not have tried contacting everyone they could to verify our scan code, no one was reachable. We ended up having to purchase tickets through another vendor that the office was willing to help us with so we could get in. We paid a lot of money to get there from our cruise ship to be told our voucher could not be verified. Now, it's been almost 3 months and I still have not gotten my refund. Keep getting the run-around about "chargebacks"!!!

Book with someone else! - Booked shorter tour, not until inside told it was longer tour so we had to rush around and see things ourselves to keep on time for other bookings. Viator customer services (or AI) were not very helpful, and I am still waiting for the reply I was promised by ‘Management.’ People in office quite put off when we asked any questions as if we were an inconvenience and not a paying customer. In all a very bad experience that spoilt our family trip to Rome, would not recommend booking through Viator.
