Once in a lifetime experience - Our tour was great. You will need to meet beside the coffee shop across the road from the Vatican Museum entrance. Had to ask for directions so hope this helps. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and informative. She did not rush. Since was evening tour we had to spend through one area because of closing. But it had relics from another country. The art she was slow and meticulous at explaining the very details. Photos was able to be taken everywhere expect in the Sistine chapel. I was very impressed.

Awesome, entertaining and informative tour of Vatican museum and Sistine chapel - Vatican museum and Sistine chapel guided tour was one of the best experiences we had in Rome. I would recommend travellers to go for a guided tour only, as there are a lot of history and information behind each fresco paintings and arts. The guide Agnes was very knowledgeable and good at explaining the story behind the artists and art forms, that we fall in love with the museum itself. There was no waiting to enter the museum. And the radio with earphone is a good way to hear the guide, even in a large group. Overall this was an amazing tour for us. Much recommended.

Vatican, great. Tour, not so much. - Let me be very clear this review is for the tour itself. We saw so much amazing art, but would have done better to skip the expensive tour, seen it all on our own, and spent the difference on pizza and gelato. For our 100% US and Canadian group, our guide spoke limited English with a very heavy accent MUCH too quickly. The in-ear audio device provided muffled sound. All of which netted out at understanding less than 50% of what she was saying. (Her name was lost somewhere in that 50%+ of unintelligible content.) The “guide” was more of a deliverer of information. She had no rapport with the group, and the information was delivered abruptly and incompletely. Very much just going through the motions. Because of limited time and talking in the Sistine Chapel, we spent 30 minutes in front of a poster of the chapel ceiling. 30 minutes we could have been in the museums. It’s important to note this tour DOES NOT include St. Peter’s Square or Basilica. In fairness, it’s not listed in the description but if, like me, you assume these things are fairly synonymous with “Vatican” you will be disappointed. I gave an extra star because we were issued a partial refund, which was appreciated. However, I still felt it important to warn others of our overall disappointment.

Not worth the money! - We were only one of many tour groups during a supposed quieter time of day! It was very, very crowded! Our tour leader was difficult to follow and walked too quickly in many parts of the tour.

Tour Guy is terrible to deal with. Do not use them - I booked the Vatican after our tours with the tour guy for four people at a cost of $450. The day we were doing the tour, there was a subway strike in Rome, which we did not know about, we couldn’t find a taxi or an Uber for 30 minutes then finally started walking, we had left ourselves in an hour to get there for a 20 minute trip, I got a message from our guide 15 minutes before the meeting where we were, I texted her back that we couldn’t get a taxi or an Uber and would be 10 to 15 minutes late. She never answered me, I tried to call the number that the text was from, but there was no one answering the phone. It went to a machine. I tried a few times . We bought our own tickets for $20 a person and went in and saw the Vatican museum on our own. When we got back home, I called the company explained the situation to them and asked why it was that the tour guide couldn’t respond to me and tell me where to meet her inside the museum. I was told they don’t do that. If you’re late there’s nothing they could do for you. They gave me a 15% refund. The 15% refund wasn’t even enough to cover the $20 a person we spent on the four tickets to get in let alone the $450 we paid for the tour. I am very disappointed in the company they should have been more helpful at the time, the tour guide should have gotten back to me and given us a meeting point, and I was very disappointed with the response of the company 15% of $450 is terrible compensation. I have traveled a lot and used a lot of tour companies and have never had an issue where they didn’t try to help you at the scene or do a little bit more to rectify it after the tour. Do not book with these people , they are very difficult to deal with.

Read Wikipedia instead - Learned nothing. We were rushed through some of the most important art and architecture and could have learned more from Wikipedia. I understand that so many people want to see the Sistine Chapel, but we were rushed through rooms, past sculptures, ignoring the history of the museum, the patronage of popes, and why it was more important than just a collection of valuable objects. I knew it was going to be bad when we were told that “St Peter’s was built my Michelangelo” (ignoring giants such as Bramante, Da Vinci, Bernini), and it got worse from there when in the Cortile we spent half an hour with photos of the Sistine Chapel. I was nearly in tears of frustration by the end, and at times took my earpiece out to try and listen to other guides.
