An unforgettable spiritual communion at St. Peter's Basilica - Attending Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, receiving Communion, walking through the Holy Door and receiving the Pope’s blessing was one of the most spiritually rewarding experiences of our lives. It’s a moment that blends faith, art, history, and incredible universal energy. Participating in a mass in St. Peter’s Basilica is already a unique experience, but receiving communion in this iconic place was deeply moving. The priests present, numerous to respond to the influx of the faithful, distribute communion in a perfect organization despite the crowd. This sacred gesture, carried out under the vaults of this masterpiece of Christian art, offered me a moment of intense reflection and inner peace. Walking through the Holy Door, opened for the Holy Year, reinforced this sense of union with the history of the Christian faith. This act, a symbol of grace and forgiveness, was accompanied by personal prayers for peace and hope. The sense of spiritual renewal is even more palpable when it is shared with pilgrims from all over the world. The papal blessing urbi et orbi, given at the end of Mass from the altar or St. Peter’s Square, is a moment charged with collective emotion. Seeing the Pope and receiving his words of comfort and encouragement is a heartbreaking experience. This moment brings together believers and curious in an atmosphere of prayer and universal communion. The basilica itself is a masterpiece. Receiving communion under Bernini’s majestic Baldacchino, with Michelangelo’s dome and Pietà in the background, makes the experience even more meaningful. You can feel the greatness and spirituality that have passed through centuries in this sacred space. Tips for a successful visit with communion: 1. Come early. To participate in Mass and receive Communion, it is advisable to arrive well in advance, especially during major liturgical events. 2. Prepare yourself spiritually: If possible, participate in a confession before Mass for an even more rewarding experience. 3. Reserve if necessary: Some papal masses require free tickets that are best booked online or at the Prefecture of the Pontifical Household. In conclusion: Receiving communion in St. Peter’s Basilica, while passing through the Holy Door and receiving the Pope’s blessing, is a spiritual experience that goes beyond words. This moment of faith, introspection and artistic beauty is a must-see for anyone looking to experience an authentic encounter with their spirituality or discover one of the greatest treasures of Christianity. I recommend anyone visiting Rome to have this unique experience at least once in their life.

This tour was perfect to... - This tour was perfect to tour all the major attractions in Vatican City. Our guide, Manny, was very knowledgeable. Skip the line tickets were very useful to avoid long lines. I should note that there wasn’t a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, instead you can explore it on your own pace. However our guide did go over some of the important parts of the basilica to help us navigate around before we went into the Basilica. Although the tour can be overwhelming as it covers so many important sites and provides so much information, it is perfect for anyone wanting to learn all about the Vatican in a short period of time.

Viatours the Vatican - Beautiful works, good, knowledgeable guide. For our group, it took too long getting through the museum part. It was almost like the guide needed us to take extra time for some reason. It was also very crowded the day we were there.

Avoid Wednesdays - Vatican museum was quite interesting. Sistine Chapel amazing. Guide explained everything we were about to see prior to entry as it is a quiet place. Could have used more time to really take it all in a look at the details. BIG ISSUE: We went on this tour on a Wednesday. St. Peter's Basilica is CLOSED to visitors on Wednesdays. This should be prominent in the tour description on the Viator site. Our entire group was very disappointed.
