Highlights
  • Galleria Borghese - Constructed at the command of a key figure in the cultural scene of the early 1600s, Cardinal Scipione Borghese, Villa Borghese stands as a testament to his influence.

Scipione, the favored nephew of Pope Paul V Borghese, benefited from his uncle’s influence, which was used to secure his family, particularly Scipione himself, with protection and affluence.

The Galleria Borghese Museum is home to a vast array of art, including sculptures, bas-reliefs, and ancient mosaics, as well as a range of paintings and sculptures spanning from the 15th to the 19th centuries.

The collection’s most significant and earliest pieces, originating from Cardinal Scipione’s own collection, feature creations by Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian, Correggio, Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, and sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova.

Wonderful Experience - It is hard to express how perfect our tour was. Our guide Eviss was informative without being boring. Her insight made the exhibit come to life. Without her the museum would have been just a bunch of stuff. Highly recommend this tour.
