I’m hooked - This is the second time (and it won’t be the last) that I have gone whale watching with Charterscene and can highly recommend this company. Maximum passengers on the yacht is 12, which makes it an intimate experience with you and the ocean. Both times that I went, Douglas easily located the path of the humpbacks for the passengers to observe surfacing and breaching. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Perfect day out on Sydney Harbour - Fantastic day out with Doug and Dave. Perfect day on Sydney Harbour and got to see some beautiful whales. Amazed at how we found them and were able to follow them and see them come up a few times. Doug asked if we could all stay extra as it took a bit of time to find the whales. We were all happy to stay and our trip was 4 hours instead of 3. Thanks Doug, will absolute recommend to others!

Relaxed and very civilised - Really pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Chilled out and leisure way to attempt to see whales. The exact opposite of some of the competitors with their pay per shot photographers and clowns on microphones. With these guys you get a small group, two guys who actually enjoy sailing and if you’re lucky you might get to see some whales and even get a mug of soup too. Highly recommended as a relaxed way to spend an afternoon.

A truly memorable day. - A great day all around. After finding four whales we followed them for quite some time. The Captain knew what pace they were travelling and was able to keep up with them even when they dived. A truly exhilarating experience.

Simply the best! - We followed the whales along the coast outside Sydney Heads watching them surfacing and blowing water spouts. We lost count of the number of times we saw whales breaching but probably there were at least 8 occasions and one included two whales synchronised. The boat is a luxury 49 footer and is superb. Doug is an expert and experienced captain and knows how to find the whales ably assisted by his shipmate Dave on this occasion. Dave is a professional photographer who took the most amazing shots. This was the whale watching trip of a lifetime. Beautiful views and perfect weather.

Must Do - What an amazing experience - Captain Douglas and First Mate Gavin got us right to the whales outside The Heads! We were saw 20-30 whales and 2 breaching!! Douglas was respectful of keeping our distance from the whales and ensured that we had an enjoyable experience. A Covid 19 safety plan adhered to, unlike other tour companies we saw on the water. Highly recommended tour!!
