This extraordinary outing requires you to bring swimwear, a towel, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, while your guides will handle everything else. Upon arrival at Extreme Dominica’s base, you’ll practice rappelling on an 8-foot practice wall and attend a briefing before embarking on a 15-minute drive to the canyon where the real excitement begins. After navigating the enchanting canyon, the experience wraps up with a 15-minute trek back to the transport. The adventure culminates at the canyoning school with warm cocoa tea and a selection of local fruits.

Best Shore Excursion Ever - It was a great experience. I wish I would have brought a waterproof bag to take my phone along for pictures. The guides were fantastic. The repelling was fun but my favorite part was the 25ft cliff jump. I will go back to Dominica again just to try a more advanced experience with these guides! Note that the excursion went longer than expected so keep that in mind when booking while in port for a cruise. That said, we still had more than enough time to get back, just not as much time to enjoy the island than we expected.

Amazing experience!! - The best excursion ever! Our guides Berani and Jahlel were absolute rock stars!! They were funny, informative and went above and beyond what anyone could possibly expect from tour guides. I highly recommend this experience if you are physically up for the challenge. 10 out 10!!! Definitely go try this! - This was our favorite excursion of a 5 island trip. The tour guides were so friendly. They taught us how to canyoneer with a practice wall. We drove to the starting point while learning a little more about the island. Once we started, the guides, Jeffrey and Joshua, were super encouraging. They helped us feel comfortable with the challenges and guided us well on how to put our feet and use our hands to lower ourselves. The beauty of the canyon area is indescribable! I wish we had rented a GoPro from them to capture more memories.

Amazing activity! - This activity was amazing!! We did it as a port stop on our cruise and it was our favourite thing from the whole trip! Our guides Berani & Mandy were top class and really added to the whole experience! Would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Dominica!

Amazing experience! - This was hands down the highlight of our vacation and I still can’t really believe we did that. I will say that I was a bit skeptical when I saw only 5-star reviews, but now definitely see that they are more than earned. The team of guides were all so friendly and made us feel safe all the way through. This was definitely out of my comfort zone (by not a small margin), but I am so glad that we spent our day doing this.
Our guides Berani, Mandy, Naghzi (sorry I am probably mangling his name) and Joshua were so upbeat and kind. We did pause before starting the descent to make sure that the weather wouldn’t pose a threat (it was raining in some areas and they wanted to make sure the river was not at risk of rising suddenly), but I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure it was the right call, as once you start down the route through the canyon there’s only one direction you can go!
We did this excursion as a stop on our cruise, and I have to say that this is the only island that I would want to plan an entire vacation to visit, in large part due to the wonderful people that we got to spend the day with. It’s also just such a beautiful place!
Anyway, if you’re on the fence just book this. It definitely requires some physicality, but it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a vacation!

Great views and cool water... - This was an amazing adventure!! Big Poppa and his crew were great...he even went back up the gorge to find some lost glasses. I cannot recommend this tour more enthusiasticly.

Amazing experience - My husband and I did the beginner trip. It was amazing. Our guides were focused on both safety and fun. I'm not too keen on heights but did this with no hesitation. One of the best trips of our time on Dominica. Highly recommend.

Truly the best day ever!!! - This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever done and we highly recommend doing it. The guides were awesome patient and highly knowledgeable. If you’re inexperienced or a bit afraid rest assured they will help you and make you feel at ease. The canyon is absolutely gorgeous and the repelling and jumping is just so much fun! From the start to the end they are all professional and all around just a great group of people. Dont think twice just do it!!!!! Thank you extreme Dominica for an amazing experience!!! We will be back!

Just do it! - Let me just start by saying, I am not particularly brave or adventurous. I booked this excursion because my two kids (12 and 9) wanted to go, and I’m so glad I did. I did things (like jump off tall boulders, and rappel down waterfalls) that never thought I would do and I loved every second (turns out I may be a little braver and more adventurous than i thought). The guides were super fun, knowledgeable, and encouraging. They definitely gave you some gentle encouragement to try things out of your comfort zone, but there was always an alternate way down in case you did not want to, say, jump off a 25 foot boulder. Truly, cannot say enough about the experience.
PS: I definitely recommend paying extra for the GoPro. You really can’t bring your phone or camera with you because it is very likely it will get damaged. I would’ve been very very sad if I did not have photos and videos, capturing our experience.
