My name is Kevin, and I consider myself more of a cultural translator than a teacher disseminating information or a tour guide pointing out locations. I’m essentially an inverse anthropologist, delving into and illuminating the history and culture of Rothenburg for the benefit of my curious clients. I conduct exploratory strolls and spontaneous cultural engagements. I present information in a manner that encourages my visitors to forge their own intellectual links, because a tour full of intriguing information alone is merely edutainment. The tours that linger in memory are those that evoke thought and emotion. Rothenburg, a seemingly timeless town on the Romantic Road, is about an hour’s drive from Nuremberg. It’s celebrated for its largely preserved 14th-century town wall and its medieval town center. Rothenburg was a sovereign city during the Middle Ages, reaching its pinnacle of wealth in the 15th century.
