Welsh Legends visit - Unbelievable experience with the best tour guide and his gorgeous dog taking us through historical moments that he had experienced himself. Authentic and delivered with fun and humour. Thank you from the Welsh group.

A great experience even for locals! - We were wanting to see the geysers and te puia was out of our budget. So glad we made the choice to visit Whakarewarewa village instead. Even being from NZ it was so interesting seeing how whanau live in the village today. Daniel was a great guide who informed us about things we hadn't known before. LOVED trying some kai cooked in the hot pool, and that you can walk around the village when the tour finishes. Well worth the money and spent a couple of hours here.

A Must See - A definite "must see" if you are visiting NZ. Probably the most amazing Kiwi experience. I'm a resident here and keep revisiting myself but I always take any visitors I have from overseas who are amazed by it

OK tour. Interesting area. - Nice, not great tour. Wish we heard more history of the people who lived and who live in the village.

Thriving Views - Local guide was knowledgeable and courteous. Be amazed at how this indigenous tribe has thrived at their historic site amidst all the geothermal features. Don’t forget to taste their hangi lunch nicely smoked by geothermal energy with the sweet organic juices from the meat all nicely retained.

Arrogant tourguide - I visited this village because of the great review, although I am not a big fan of tourist hotspots. Although the tour was informative and you learn a lot about the benefits of geothermal energy, I was VERY disappointed with the nature of our guide. I dared to ask anything in front of many strangers in a foreign language and was rebuked like a small child that she had said something about it several times! She didn't really listen and misunderstood my question. From the beginning, she made it clear that we should only ask at the end of a sequence. Not really encouraging and welcoming and definitely not a professional behavior of a tourist guide. I am glad that I got a cheap ticket through another website. Forty dollars is definitely too much for an hour.
