Highlights
  • Santa Claus (Beeld) - The Santa Claus statue by Paul McCarthy is one no one wanted, but it’s still standing proudly in the city. It became an Icon most people from Rotterdam are proud of, I will tell you why.
  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen - The Art Depot of Boijmans van Beuningen, with other places in the Museum District. Here you will learn about all museums and the Land of Hoboken.
  • Veerhaven - The Scheepvaartkwartier is a hidden gem of the outer city center; a place many Rotterdammers don’t even know about. Here you will experience the open and wide feeling of this beautiful harbor city! From the side of the river Maas, you will be able to see Hotel New York, Steam Ship Rotterdam and Erasmusbrug.
  • Erasmusbrug - The Erasmusbridge is the big white bridge, crossing the river Meuse (Maas). Here I will explain you all about the Second World War and the invasion of Rotterdam.
  • The Destroyed City - One of the most important statues in the city of Rotterdam, with lots of meaning and history.
  • Witte Huis - The White House is a historical icon and used to be the tallest tower in Europe!
  • Old Harbour - The old habor is one of the oldest harbors of The Netherlands and also very cozy! Photo time!
  • Overblaak - The cube houses might be one of the most famous sightseeing locations in the city. We will pass through, take photos, but don’t enter the demo cube house. This is possible after the tour (€3).
  • Markthal - We will end the tour inside The Markthal. This made Rotterdam extra famous and is a modern indoor market with lots of food and colors! We also call it our modern Sistine Chapel and you will find out why!

My trip in Rotterdam - Man… what can I say about Yoreh. Hearing and experiencing Rotterdam coming from a person who was born and bred there really opened my eyes. This was my second time in Rotterdam, I didn’t have enough time to experience Rotterdam the first time and didn’t enjoy it. That changed with Yoreh, Rotterdam is one of my favourite cities. Yoreh would take the time to ask about yourself, personalize the trips and even offered stroopwafels along the tour. It was so wonderful, Yoreh brought me around different parts of Rotterdam, explaining the history of the city, the buildings and would provide with small tokens about the city or about himself. Yoreh takes good photos, understand the angles well and excellent places to take photos I will come back to Yoreh when I’m in Rotterdam and would gladly bring my friends and family over. I can never thank Yoreh enough for changing my perception on Rotterdam and his kindness as well, thank you Yoreh!

Highly recommended! - We had the pleasure of joining a walking tour in Rotterdam with Yoreh as our guide. Yoreh was not only highly engaged but also made sure the group remained small, with just six guests in total, allowing for plenty of opportunities to ask questions. His deep knowledge of the city, having grown up there, was impressive, and he had prepared many interesting sights for us. The tour was varied and very entertaining, offering fascinating insights into the local art scene and the historical changes the city has undergone. Particularly captivating was the influence of World War II on different areas of Rotterdam, as well as the historical architecture Yoreh introduced us to. He also shared stories about influential figures who have shaped the city. We can recommend Yoreh 100%!

Excellent walking tour - My husband, adult son and myself went on this walking tour with Yoreh and we all loved the experience. One of the best walking tours we have ever done. It struck the right balance with information and entertainment. Yoreh was extremely knowledgeable and used photos and documents to good effect to explain different aspects of the history as we went along. He was an excellent storyteller and kept up an amusing banter throughout the 3 hours. We got to see many sights of Rotterdam which we would not have otherwise discovered and found his explanation of some of the local culture really interesting. All in all a great experience which we would highly recommend.

Fun immersion into Rotterdam, with a friendly and resourceful local! - The tour Startpoint was easy to find, and everyone was there on time. The guide is quite friendly, and made a quick introduction about trivia of the city and some information that I wasn't aware of before starting the tour. It was full of picturesque points, stories and even some personal anecdotes from him as a local who grew up in the city! It gave it Personal Touch that's quite special. I feel like I got to explore some hidden gems while also seeing the main attractions, on top of some relevant history of the city that would be easy to be overlooked, but that is so important to learn about. Definitely this experience is up there on ways to be introduced to Rotterdam, thanks again!

A day in Rotterdam - Yoreh led our group on a fantastic guided tour around the city. The history was captivating, and the contrast between the old and new parts of the city was particularly striking. We ended the tour with some excellent recommendations for lunch spots and bars.

Great Tour! - The Tour was nothing less than fantastic! Yoreh is a really nice guy. We enjoyed to listen to him and loved his sense of humour. Despite the rain we had a great tour. Besides the more “touristy” areas like the cube houses we’ve visited areas, we probably wouldn’t have visited without Yoreh. Most importantly we absolutely learned a lot. Thank you again, Yoreh! Danke dir nochmal, Yoreh!
