Overnight in an igloo! - Absolutely wonderful! Anthony, our guide, was awesome! Knowledgable about the lights and very funny!!! He shared with us typical Finnish traditions while we cooked sausages by the fire. The place is remote and absolutely stunning! I stayed with my 12 year old son, just the two of us. We loved it! The igloo is walking distance from a “warm room” that is also included, in case you can’t stand the entire night out in the cold. You have access to the room as well as the shared bathroom the entire night. The following morning you have fresh made breakfast buffet. The company provides overalls, boots, mittens, etc. They picked us up at our location, picked us up the following day from the igloo and dropped us off at our location. Although we did not see the northern lights, this was still an amazing experience that my son will always treasure. It was wonderful and I would recommend it! Once in a lifetime experience!

Authentic camping experience - Authentic camping experience in snow igloo. The mattress inside the igloo is comfortable and there is also a battery operated lattern for convenience. It can get cold even with the sleeping bag, so guests can retreat back to the warm guest room at anytime. Toilet is available back at the main building next to the guest room. Excellent breakfast spread. Truly enjoyed the northern light trip guided by Kamala and Rita. They are very knowledgeable about northern lights and also prepared activities while waiting for the northern lights to appear. They were extremely helpful with taking photos for us. Quite a selection available for dinner barbeque as well.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! We had to leave together with a family with children because we all felt unsafe - Not sure where to start ... we had all the signs that this would have been a terrible experience. I will list them one by one: 1) We were staying in an AirBnB 2km from city center. All other group operators come and pick you up. In the days prior this activity, we did visit to Reindeer farm, Snomobile and Husky 10km ride and for all of those the organisers came and picked us up. We sent an email to Lapland Welcome asking if it was possible to be picked up at our AirBnB. No Answer. We stopped by the main office and are greeted by a person who doesnt speak English nor Finnish. The person puts us on the phone with a manager who tells us they wont come and pick us up from the AirBnB. Ok no big deal, but already disservice compared to any other operator 2) On the day of the activity at 7.45pm we arrive at the main office. We are greeted by the main tour guide. We ask the tour guide what is the plan for the night. He says that "HE DOES NOT KNOW EXACTLY". Keep in mind this is a tour in which you are supposed to be driven 1hr away from the city and left to sleep in an Igloo!!! Not ideal to hear the main guide not knowing the program. Together with him, there is a young kid which is on training on his first day of work. We start asking questions such as "Who is going to come and pick us up in the morning?". The tour guide keeps giving very vague answers like "I think someone from the office, but not sure". We ask at what time they will come and pick us up and the guide tells us "I think 9 or 10am but not sure". We ask how many igloos are available ... guide replies that he does not know. We were 10 people and nobody knows where we will be sleeping, who comes and pick us up and when we will be picked up. Absolutely terrifying! 3) We wait until 9pm before leaving because the main guides forgot to pick up a family of 5 who had been waiting at their hotel for approx 1.5 hours. Finally at 9pm we make our way to the 1hr away location; 4) Once there, we check in a small hotel and they show us the igloo. Ours was a 2 people igloo. No way we could be sleeping there. You are literally at 2cm from the snow. It is not what's shown in the picture. It is a tiny, probably 30cm tall igloo where you even struggle to get in. If you are claustrophobic this will be your worst nightmare. 5) The guide finally lits the fire into a small tapee. We ask what happens now and he tells that we now should look outside and see if there are northen lights. He does not know anything ... he moved to Finland from south america less than 2 months ago! This is advertised as "The guide explains all about Northern Lights and the old mytholog" ... the guide didnt know absolutely anything of anything! Not even at what time he was supposed to leave 6) Given the situation, we felt terribly unsafe and together with a family of 5 with 3 young children, asked to be driven back to Rovaniemi. The children were terrified by the experience. A total waste of 380£ and nobody should do this experience. Given the type of experience and the fact you are being taken far away in the middle of the forest, this is a tour that should be led by extremely experienced and professional guides, not amateurs. Avoid this company at all costs!
