The greatest time to see the Northern Lights is between October and middle of March. You need fair skies, pitch black nights and some luck to see the dancing lights in the sky. The traditional Nordic practice is to spend 10-15 minutes in the sauna before plunging into icy water, or even ahuge mound of sparkling white snow!
