Not as advertised! - We travel to Rovaniemi with the ilusion of celebrating the most amazing christmas eve and we found this "Magical Christmas Even party in Lapland" in the official Rovaniemi tourism page (also found in Nordic Travels page). On the website the description of the package included traveling to a luxury restaurant in the lappish forest, meeting Santa and receiving gifts from him decorate gingerbread cookies with elves, fireworks and also snow activities, and of course, a Christmas dinner. Unfortunately this agency, as we later found, has the common practice of overbooking its activities. The day of Christmas eve we showed up in the meeting point to go to the activity, our surprise was that instead of going to this luxury restaurant in the forest the guides were WALKING us to a house-turned-restaurant that was like 500 m from the travel agency. The entire group (several families)had paid a good amount of money for the advertised activity and we didnt accept the cheap alternative we were getting, so we went back to the agency's office to complain. At the end of the day we didnt get what we paid for and for many that Christmas Eve was ruined. The group was taken to the house-restaurant with the promise of getting a full refund that we are still waiting.
