Korouoma Canyon is located on the border of Northern Ostrobothnia and the Region of Koillismaa in Southern Lapland. The area’s landscape is exceptionally rugged and grand. The aim of this future nature reserve is to protect species of old-growth forests, of herb-rich forests and of cliffs. The flora and fauna varies throughout the area.

Great trip to Korouoma Canyon! - We recently took a trip to Korouoma Canyon with Lapland Welcome and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Jan was very friendly and knowledgable and knew all the best photo spots! The valley is beautiful, we were lucky to have a sunny day with snow-covered pine trees. The drive there from Rovaniemi is quite long (approx 1.5 hours), however the scenery on the journey is beautiful!

Wonderful hike to the Korouoma frozen waterfalls! - We enjoyed the hike to the frozen waterfalls a lot! During this 6 km long hike, there was enough time to take photos and to enjoy the wonderful nature. At the end of the walk, we had a lunch by open fire which was also very nice!
David was a great and enthusiastic guide with a good sense of humor. He took care of us from the very beginning and made us feel comfortable throughout the trip. He has a lot of knowledge about the canyon.
I really recommend this snowshoe trip to people who love nature and challenging hikes!
