• Korouoma th L - Korouoma is millions of years old fracture valley in the bedrock. At the center of the valley, it forms a magnificent gorge that drops over 100 meters below its surrounding terrain. It is the main place for ice climbing in the winter but offers much beauty throughout all seasons.
  During the summer and fall seasons one may encounter abundant wild animals and floral life with stunning views of the Finnish landscapes. Be on the lookout for natural delicious berries and mushrooms!
  The changing altitudes may be a little demanding where fitness level is categorized as easy-moderate. The whole hiking trail (30km) Korouma offers is classified as demanding but this day trip will go on the easier nationally acclaimed ~5km hiking trail. If you are capable of walking up and down, then you can go on this easier hike. During lunch time your guide will demonstrate how to start a fire the Lappish way for your BBQ. Charge your cameras and be ready for Korouma Canyon’s nature.

Korouoma, a fracture valley that spans millions of years in the bedrock, is known for its breathtaking central gorge that descends over 100 meters from the land around it. During the colder months, it becomes a prime location for ice climbing, but the beauty of Korouoma persists through all seasons. At summer and autumn time, you can expect to see a variety of wild fauna and flora, as well as spectacular views of the Finnish scenery, not forgetting the tasty natural berries and mushrooms you might find!
The varying elevations may challenge some, as the fitness level requirement is easy-to-moderate. Korouoma’s full hiking trail spans 30km and is considered strenuous, however, this day trip traverses the less challenging, nationally recognised 5km trail. If you are able to walk uphill and downhill, this easier trail is suitable for you. During lunch, your guide will show you how to kindle a fire in traditional Lappish style for your BBQ. Bring your charged cameras and come prepared to capture the rich natural beauty of Korouoma Canyon!

• Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.
• Operated in Rovaniemi each year between May to November (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.
• Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Sunny Safari Office is within 8km.
• Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
• Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and shoes according to the weather. Raincoats and rubber boots are recommended on rainy days.
