Rovaniemi - Come to experience lapland´s wilderness on skis, in a small group (max. 4 pers.), guided by a certified wilderness guide.
We´ll drive to a remote area, half an hour away from Rovaniemi, far from towns and marked trails; there we´ll put the skis on and go through the base techniques of trekking-skis; then we´ll start to ski through snowy forests, frozen lakes and swamps. We´ll enjoy the landscape, take pictures and I will tell about local nature, wildlife and animal footprints in the snow. We´ll go take a break in our private kota, traditional lappish tent, where we´ll grill a snack on the fire, drink something warm and relax sitting on reindeer skins in front of a fire.

Previous experience with the skis is not required, as they are easy to use and the terrain is mostly flat.
The trek difficulty will be adjusted, based on the physical condition of the clients.

Additional Information
Join us on a quest to discover the vast wilderness of Lapland on skis. We welcome a close-knit group of up to 4 people, led by a certified and seasoned wilderness guide.
Our journey will take us through wintry woods, across icy lakes, and through frosty swamps, culminating at a kota— a traditional Lappish tent. Here we will rest, bask in the warmth of the fire, recline on plush reindeer skins and enjoy a barbecue.
Throughout our journey, I will share insights about the local flora and fauna, and identify various animal tracks visible in the snow.
This adventure unfolds in a secluded region away from mapped trails, offering you an authentic wilderness experience. The kota tent is exclusively ours, ensuring our encounter with nature remains undisturbed by any other groups.
Don’t worry if you’re new to skiing, no prior experience is necessary!

Wonderful - Amazing trek. The beauty of the wilderness, the peace and tranquillity make this a must do tour. Really knowledgeable and interesting guide who also rustled up a tasty lunch! I did this tour last year and it was the first thing I booked when I returned to Rovanemi. Really great experience.

A great trip out into the wilds!!! - As a person with no ability whatsoever at skiing at all, I was trepidatious however Giacomo was great and the whole trip brilliant . Great trails and beautiful scenery. Nothing a novice couldn’t manage, but my wife an experienced skier enjoyed it equally. Highly recommended

Incredible activity! - Excellent experience! Giacomo is really nice, he dedicates lot of time to the group. Skii trek is a different experience from all the others offered in this town. Wilderness 100%, loved it!!!
Kota tent is amazing to have some warm food.

Amazing tour at a breathtaking area! - I really enjoyed this tour. Skiing through this remote area was such an awesome experience. There was just complete silence and the only steps you saw in the snow were from animals.
It was my first time ever on ski's, but Giacomo told me the everything I needed to know about the skiing before we took off and during the trip he kept checking if I was doing allright.
At the end there was time to relax around the fire and there was a nice lunch with a drink.
I also really appreciate that Giacomo did the tour even though I was the only customer this day.

FANTASTIC SKIING EXPERIENCE! Highly recommended! - Highly recommended! A fantastic experience in the snowy forest. Giacomo was an excellent guide, extremely helpful, very kind and attentive to our comfort. In fact, despite being a few hours of "walking on skis", you can enjoy all of this time as it is an enchanted and uncontaminated landscape. Gianluca speaks English very well, however for us Italians, having a guide who speaks Italian is an added value. Finally, the cost, for the experience lived and comparing other experiences in Rovaniemi, is very worth it!

Realized dream - Giacomo competent, attentive guide and very helpful!
Thanks to him I realized a dream I had had for years.
He was able to make us live a unique experience in his being.
Skiing in the snow-covered forests, having lunch in his kota (tent) and learning about local flora and fauna.

Unique experience! - Wonderful experience in the midst of nature and very special. Not your usual excursion!
Giacomo is fantastic: he took care of us in every detail.
Ski walk immersed in nature sprinkled with white which allowed us to see the typical landscapes of Lapland.
A must do if you come to Rovaniemi!

One of the best experiences in Rovaniemi. - It was one of the best experiences we had with a guide. Giacomo takes his time to explain everything thoroughly and adapts his pace to your level of speed with the skis. The hospitality was a 6 out of 5 stars.

SKI TREKKING IN THE WILD NATURE - Fantastic excursion:
Our guide was friendly, kind and expert.
In the morning he picked us up directly at the hotel.
At the beginning of the adventure he explained to us how to use the skis (excursion also suitable for beginners);
during the journey he told us and explained the habits of the local animals (we saw many footprints of arctic partridge, otter, hare, fox and squirrels) and at lunch time he lit the bonfire and cooked for us in a typical kota Finnish.
On the way back we had the opportunity to trace the route in the fresh snow, all in total safety!
Unique experience, immersed in the wild nature of Lapland, thanks Giacomo!!
