A knowledgeable local guide will pick you up from your accommodation to embark on a Northern Lights adventure in Lapland, away from the city’s light pollution. After the tour, you will be returned to your accommodation.
The tour will proceed only if conditions are favorable for viewing the Auroras. If a longer drive is necessary to find clear skies, the departure will be earlier, while a shorter drive will result in a later start. Departure times range from 16:00 to 20:00, and the tour duration can vary from 5 to 12 hours.
GUARANTEE: If the Auroras are not visible during the tour despite the guide’s best efforts, a full refund of your ticket price will be provided. You may choose to pay a voluntary fee to cover basic costs like fuel, but this is entirely optional.
If a tour is unsuccessful or canceled due to unfavorable conditions, you have the option to book a seat on a tour on subsequent days, subject to availability.

Amazing Tour - What an amazing night we had! Velu was amazing, very informative, and so kind. He was very optimistic that we would find an Aurora and he was correct! We were nervous as the weather was cloudy but we soon found quick skies as we headed north. We would highly recommend his tour!

Great guide!! - He was a very nice guide. He’s willing to travel from Rovaniemi to Ivalo to pick us up. The best part was that the weather prediction was totally bad for the whole week and he constantly gave update if we had a chance or not. In the end of the day, we caught the northern light!!

Fantastic Tour - it will change your life! - It was the most amazing evening. We chased the Northern lights for hours and saw some nice glimpses at first. Our guide kept at it though and eventually we found a break in the clouds and the Aurora exploded above us. It was magic and his skills at chasing the right place and right time were exemplary. It was one of the best nights of our lives.

Amazing tour, definitely recommend! - The most amazing experience, we were only in Lapland for a short period of time and it was unlikely to see the Northern Lights due to the heavy clouds everywhere, but we were so lucky we went with Velu because he managed to find them for us despite all odds! He explained it wasn’t a guarantee to see them but he will try his best, which is something great that he offers - you don’t have to pay unless you actually see them unlike a lot of other companies, resulting in loosing a lot of money.
Velu is an expert in his field and made the experience so smooth for us, so we just had to sit back with our snacks and wait for him to tell us when to get out! He is a great guy, and so glad we went with him, our experience would not be the same had we not - a friend actually recommended him and I see why! Will definitely be booking with him again if I’m ever back in Lapland, couldn’t recommend Lapland Scapes enough! Thanks Velu for an amazing experience!
He even offered to drive us to the airport the next morning as he was staying nearby, personalised tours like this are so much better than going with big companies. It was just our group doing a private tour with him which was so great.

Top notch Aurora tour with a local Lapland guide! - I went on a couple of Aurora tours whilst in Rovaniemi, but this one with Velu bar far was the best! Being a Lapland native, it made a huge difference learning about the history, as well as the Aurora from Velu. It made the tour more personable, high level quality and guaranteed views of the Aurora - well worth the investment for the tour!

Amazing guide + Amazing lights = Perfect Trip - Our guide was very hospitable, approachable, very knowledgable, and patient. The magical momemt when the lights danced across the sky was, of course, the highlight. Through the long trip to reach our destination we were educated without feeling belittled for what may seem to many as silly questions. Such a hardworking, honest entrepreneur is not an easy find. Amazing tour w/ brilliant guide! - Velu is wonderful guide and has amazing knowledge of Lapland and astronomy, including expertise in northern lights. He plans the tour with passion and takes all details in consideration, you can reach him via whatsapp if needed. The van was also very comfy! Youll get a sense that Velu really puts in all the effort for you to experince the auroras and is such a heartfelt guide for your adventure.

The most honest and helpful tour guide - After I booked this tour, unfortunately the forecast for the night and the following 3 nights wasn't great and Velu reached out to me by midday on WhatsApp to let me know. He was honest and refunded the entire trip. HOWEVER, the reason I'm writing this review and giving him 5 stars is that over the coming days, Velu continued to speak to me on WhatsApp and help me organise a tour with other tour operators on a day where the forecast was good, taking time out of his day to explain what CME (Coronal mass ejections) are and how the pros forecast auroras. In the end, I saw a massive rare blue aurora with another operator but it wouldn't have worked without Velu's help and his honesty. Don't be cheap and try to see the northern lights with another cheaper tour, go with Velu as you'll get the best service you could ever imagine and with a tiny bit of luck, he WILL do everything in his power to help you see the northern lights - From an Aussie who has dreamt of seeing them for years
