Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the beauty of the Lappish forests and learn more about the trees, plants, their properties, and wildlife. You will also be taught how to use your surroundings to make a fire and some other basic survival skills.

The tour operates all year round, with specific features attached to each season. In the wintertime, you will enjoy views of huge snow drifts, white trails and frozen trees, with very cold temperatures that may drop down to -30°C! You will learn about the footprints you find around you in the snow - tracks made by wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, weasels, Arctic hare and many more. Refreshments and typical Finnish campfire snack will be provided halfway, as your guide will lit a fire to keep you warm. This is a great opportunity for your guide to show you how to build a fire as natives do.

Excelent! - Atanas (our guide) was very nice and kind all the time. He explained to us a lot of different things about the forest and survival. Made the hiking experience very fun and rewarding. Very recommended!!

Fantastic tour - This tour was a fantastic experience. Guillaume, our guide of the day was over the top. He provided a lot of survival tips as well as a lot of information about the fauna and flora of Lapland. He made small breaks to ensure everybody was following and could make pictures of the beautiful scenery. He was also keen to take pictures for us. The breath taking landscapes, the fresh air, the stop for the barbecue, we enjoyed it all. We strongly recommend this activity to anybody who loves nature.

Wholesome time in nature - Our guide Maria brought us along for a beautiful hike in the forest. She was also really earnest when sharing fun facts about the things that we saw along the way. We had a nice cosy lunch too and Maria took good care of each of us. Overall, it was pleasant and wholesome experience. Also wanted to give a shoutout to the Wild About Lapland staff who were so patient and welcoming when answering the numerous queries that we had about the tours, thank you for being so helpful!

Extremely Recommended! - Chris, our guide was super nice and helpful, he told us a lot of interesting information on the way to the top of the hill from where we got a wonderful view of the Taiga. This excursion is a valuable alternative to what other tour operators can offer you and it is a really good way to reconnect with the nature and discover Finland. This was our second tour with this agency and we were really happy for their professionalism and kindness: the staff always tries their best to make your experience unforgettable :) Amazing trip, thanks Chris!! A great experience We recommend it! - We had the chance to go with our guide in the taiga forest near to Rovaniemi. We enjoyed a lot! We had a walk for about two hours. Our guide told us the rich history of the region and of the Sami people. We finished with an authentic barbecue! We appreciated to be guided as individuals would love to. We escaped the massive tourism model! We were 2 only with our guide. Did pay 70€/each.

An amazing tour with a very good guide - The tour was very interesting thanks to our guide. His explanations are very clear and useful in order to understand the surroundings. The place is magnificent and thanks to Theo you learn a lot of stuff about nature and also how to survive in the wildlife of Lapland, you even learn how to make a fire without using any matches! I recommend it!! Thanks Theo!!!

Wilderness tour - I had nothing less than a wonderful experience with the Wilderness tour. The guide had a lot of knowledge that he shared. It was both meditative when we went quietly and fun when we went down the hill outside the trails. Great and intense nature experience - it felt like we had been off for a whole day. My best commendations.

Rainy day in the nature - That day was a rainy and gloomy day, and the original plan was modified as we couldn't stay outdoor for a long period of time. Our guide Theo suggested another plan and we were driven to different locations to have short walks in the nature. It was a good experience but would hope to hike properly again on a sunny day! Had a nice and warm barbecue as well and it was great too!
