Embark on a journey through Istria, Croatia’s vineyards with us. We’ll guide you through Istria’s most stunning wine vaults, sampling as many as 5 wines at each location, and taking in the mesmerizing vistas of the Istrian rural landscape. Our tours are intimate, limited to 8 participants, providing the sensation of a private excursion. Pick up is arranged from your lodging, and the experience lasts up to 7 hours. The wines we’ll sample at the vineyards are quintessential to ISTRIA - from Teran, Refosk, Merlot and other red wine grape varieties. Don’t miss out on the chance to taste Malvazija Istarska at every vineyard.

Amazing day wine tasting in Istria! - Alen planned the most amazing day for us! He picked us up very close to our Airbnb and took us to three wineries where we sampled about 15 wines total and lots of food. He was so friendly and funny, and answered all of our questions about wine and the history of the region of Istria and Croatia in general. It was one of the best days of our trip. Definitely recommend!!

Wine Tour - THE BEST! - We did a private wine tour with Alen, and it was the highlight of our 17 day trip to Europe. He was fun, knowledgeable, and responsive. It was a wonderful day, and I can't recommend him enough!

Fantastic - Alen is fantastic! Whatever you book with ‘this is istria’ you won’t be disappointed. We did the full day wine tour (3 wineries), also including some olive oil tasting, and ended with fresh truffle pasta somewhere we’d never venture to ourselves normally. Totally worth it and would book again without a second thought!

Wonderful wine/food experience in Istria - Our wine tour with Alan was a highlight of our trip. The three destinations were each unique and the hosts at each winery were welcoming and knowledgeable. We were surprised by the delicious food to accompany the wine, especially at Kadum. Our host was a wonderful cook and we felt at home in the courtyard of this special home. Alan, a certified sommelier, was very knowledgeable about the wines, food, history and politics! We enjoyed chatting with him. We highly recommend this trip.

amazing scenery, wine and more - we had a fabulous day touring 3 wineries. Alen picked us up from our rental in rovinj and we made our way through istria learning all about the wine, soil, topography, and more. the three stops were chosen by Alen: matosevic, damjanic, and veralda. the staff at each were friendly and knowledgeable. we had a variety of red and white wine and food (meat, cheese, bread, olive oil) at each tasting. Alen provided historical and cultural insight throughout the trip. great way to spend a day in croatia!

A wonderful day in every way! - We had the most amazing day on this tour with Alan. It was just my fiance and myself with Alan so it was a private tour. Alan was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. The wineries he took us to were both beautiful and very different so it was great to experience a small family-run business and then a larger scale establishment - both with the most stunning views. I would highly recommend this tour, we have already planned to do this again next year with our parents.

A great way to explore the real istria - This was a great day trip! We stayed in Rovinj for 5 days and this tour was a great way to explore the real Istria. The winery’s were beautiful, wine was explained very well and each winery provided great locally grown food. Not only was this a wine tour it was also a culinary experience. Alen, our guide, was the absolute best - he’s from the area, he shared a lot of history, and he creates the itinerary based on what you want to see/do. We went to 2 great wineries and then to a rustic restaurant where we had the best food with truffles.. and more wine, grappa and finished off with a Caffe corretto. So fun, Alen is the best :) Spending time with him was like hanging out with a good friend!.

Full of culture and beautiful views!! Oh and wine ;) - What a day!!! I come to Croatia every summer and this is one of the best things I have ever done!!! Alen picked us up in the morning and took us to 3 authentic wineries where we had house cured meats, cheeses and olive oil to pair with our wines!! We saw the lovely country with amazing views and learned every inch of the way!! Culture, wine, olive oil food!! You name it Alen knew it!!! Already planning to go back next summer to try 3 new wineries!!

Fantastic day learning about Istrian wine, food, culture and history - We can highly recommend this tour, Alen was our guide and he had the perfect combination of knowledge, humour and friendliness to make the entire experience just perfect. We toured three different wineries, one which also produced olive oil. At each we had a snacks (referred to by Alen as ‘light lunch’ - our advice, skip breakfast). The story of Istria, of the primary grapes and the differences between each winery, their location and techniques was fascinating. Alen’s knowledge of Croatia is deep and delivered with passion. The fact he can speak about 7 languages is a testament to his abilities. In all we tasted about 14 different wines, with no limit on how much we could drink or eat. You won’t regret booking this.

Incredible wine, great food, and the most knowledgable and connected guides in Istria - My wife and I had the most incredible day with This is Istria. I plan to write a more in-depth review later, but I have to say you will be so glad you booked with them. Expect a day full of incredible food, wine, and great conversation. Alen has a wealth of knowledge and personal connections in Istria and I can't recommend the tours enough.
