Lower Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend - Monument Valley
Lower Antelope Canyon - Located in the American Southwest on Navajo Land east of Page, Arizona, Lower Antelope Canyon is a stunning slot canyon. Upon arrival, step off the truck and into the desert to explore this incredible landscape. Tour guides will share insights into the geology, culture, and history of the area. Walking through the sandstone walls of Lower Antelope Canyon offers an immersive experience in its beauty.
The entrance ticket for this attraction is not included in the tour fee. Please ask the tour guide to arrange the purchase of tickets. Note that this attraction involves stairs, and to allow ample time for photography, intervals between visitors are maintained, which may result in longer waiting times.
Horseshoe Bend - Horseshoe Bend is a renowned landmark within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park, and the surrounding cities and Navajo Nation. The boundary lines are quite close in some areas. Approximately nine miles downstream is where the Grand Canyon National Park officially begins. Horseshoe Bend is a social media favorite and one of the most recognized and visited spots in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
Monument Valley - Monument Valley, located on the Arizona–Utah state line near the Four Corners area, is characterized by vast sandstone buttes, the tallest reaching 1,000 feet above the valley floor. Since the 1930s, Monument Valley has been featured in various media. Director John Ford famously used this location for several of his films, and as critic Keith Phipps noted, “its five square miles [13 square kilometers] have defined what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West.”
Arches National Park - Salt Lake City - Great Salt Lake
Arches National Park - Situated north of Moab, Utah, Arches National Park is bordered by the Colorado River to the southeast. It is renowned for its more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. The long, thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north. Other notable formations include Balanced Rock, which towers over the desert landscape in the park’s center.
Utah State Capitol - The Utah State Capitol serves as the government seat for the state of Utah. It houses the chambers and offices of the Utah State Legislature, as well as the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and State Auditor. The Capitol is the main building of the Utah State Capitol Complex, located on Capitol Hill, overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. Designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting, the Neoclassical revival, Corinthian-style building was constructed between 1912 and 1916 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
Temple Square - Temple Square, a 10-acre (4.0 ha) complex owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), is located in the heart of Salt Lake City. Within Temple Square are the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake Tabernacle, Salt Lake Assembly Hall, the Seagull Monument, and two visitors’ centers. Designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964, Temple Square recognizes the Mormon achievement in settling Utah.
Great Salt Lake - The Great Salt Lake, located in northern Utah, U.S., is the largest inland body of saltwater in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most saline inland bodies of water globally. Fed by the Bear, Weber, and Jordan rivers, the lake has no outlet. Its size fluctuates greatly depending on evaporation rates and river flow. Similar to the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake exists in an arid environment and shares chemical characteristics with the oceans, though it has much higher salinity due to natural evaporation exceeding the water supply from the rivers.
Yellowstone National Park
Old Faithful - Old Faithful, a cone geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park, is one of the park’s most famous natural features, known for its predictability. It typically erupts every 91 minutes.
Fountain Paint Pot - Named for the reds, yellows, and browns of the mud in this area, the Fountain Paint Pot’s colors are due to the oxidation states of the iron in the mud. As with all hot springs, heat in the caldera forces pressurized water up through the ground, causing bubbling. The bubbling action in the mud varies with the seasons.
Biscuit Basin - Biscuit-like sinter deposits once lined the edge of Sapphire’s crater, giving Biscuit Basin its name in the 1880s. The 1959 earthquake caused Sapphire to erupt, breaking and dislodging the formations. Biscuit Basin is an isolated thermal group and part of the Upper Geyser Basin.
Sapphire Pool, the main feature west of the river, is crystal clear with a blue sapphire tint. Other notable features include Shell Geyser, with its golden-lined crater, and Jewel Geyser, known for the shiny, beaded sinter around its vent.
Yellowstone National Park - Grand Teton National Park
Upper Falls - Located a quarter mile upstream of the larger Lower Falls, the Upper Yellowstone River Falls plunge 109 feet down an eroded lava cliff into the basin below. The area below the falls has experienced more erosion than above.
West Thumb Geyser Basin - Situated at the western edge of a large bay along Yellowstone Lake’s shores, the West Thumb Geyser Basin is part of the West Thumb caldera, formed by a volcanic eruption 174,000 years ago. This bay is a smaller caldera within the larger Yellowstone caldera, filled with water to create the bay.
Artist Point - Artist Point is one of the most breathtaking scenic areas in the Canyon Area of the Park. The sheer walls drop 700 feet to the canyon’s bottom. Upriver, the powerful Lower Falls remain visible. Downriver, the canyon widens and deepens to a maximum of 1,540 feet. The canyon walls are primarily yellow, with blue, red, orange, and brown hues also present. The colors change constantly and are especially vibrant after rain with bright sunshine.
Norris Geyser Basin - Named after an early Yellowstone Superintendent, Norris Geyser Basin may be the hottest geyser basin in Yellowstone. The stark, barren landscape of Porcelain Basin results from the acidic environment. Due to the harsh conditions, plants, algae, and bacteria struggle to establish themselves. Instead, the basin’s colors come from mineral oxides, in shades of pink, red, orange (iron oxides), and yellow (sulfur and iron sulfates). The world’s largest geyser, Steamboat Geyser, is located here. Though it has long dormancy periods, when it erupts, it sends jets of water nearly 380 feet high in a spectacular display.
Hayden Valley - Centrally located in Yellowstone National Park, Hayden Valley is the prime spot for wildlife viewing. As you drive through this beautiful, broad valley, you are likely to see herds of bison, scattered elk (and occasionally herds), and the occasional grizzly bear. Waterfowl, including ducks, Canadian geese, and pelicans, are also commonly seen swimming or lounging near the Yellowstone River.
Yellowstone Geysers - Mud Volcano Area - The Mud Volcano blew itself apart in the early 20th century, but visitors can still see the impressive crater and other geothermal features in the surrounding area, such as the Mud Cauldron, Black Dragon’s Caldron, and Dragon’s Mouth Spring.
Grand Teton National Park - Located in the Rocky Mountains of Northwest Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park is renowned for its stunning mountain vistas and shimmering alpine lakes. It is also home to a diverse array of wildlife.
Bryce Canyon National Park - Zion National Park - Las Vegas
Bryce Canyon National Park - Bryce Canyon National Park, located in southwestern Utah, is an American national park. The park’s main feature, Bryce Canyon, is not a canyon but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive for its geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of river and lakebed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks offer spectacular views for visitors.
Zion National Park - Utah’s first national park invites visitors to follow paths once walked by ancient native people and pioneers. Marvel at the massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink, and red that rise into the brilliant blue sky. Experience wilderness in a narrow slot canyon. Zion’s unique array of plants and animals will captivate you as you explore its rich history and enjoy present-day adventures.
Las Vegas - Seven Magic Mountains - Los Angeles
M&M’S Las Vegas - The M&M’s Las Vegas store, a 28,000 square foot, four-level monument, was the first M&M’s store location. In just 2 minutes, guests can create their own unique M&M’s with the personal printer. Before leaving, be sure to satisfy your sweet tooth with your favorite chocolate!
Seven Magic Mountains - South of Las Vegas, Nevada, a large, colorful anomaly rises across the desert. Seven colossal stone forms defy gravity with their teetering formations. Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains consists of locally sourced limestone boulders stacked vertically in groups of three to six. Each stone boasts a different fluorescent color, and each totem stands between thirty and thirty-five feet high. The artwork extends Rondinone’s long-standing interest in natural phenomena and their reformulation in art.
Outlets at Barstow - Barstow Outlets, located in the desert on the route from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, primarily features second-tier brands, especially local ones. The collections are relatively complete and concentrated, and the service is excellent, making for a comfortable shopping experience to end the day.
