Lovely experience! - Our guide, Israel, was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and had an amazing ability to spot animals. They also take good care not to disturb the animals. The views of the national park were just stunning. We’ve done lots of tours in Costa Rica, but this was definitely one of the best ones. Highly recommended!

Excellent canoe tour from company with great customer service - We booked this tour at Aracari Garden Hostel. The whole team could not have been more helpful. They arranged our early morning boat transfer, as we were staying on the other side of the river. Our canoe tour group was only four people and the canoe had proper back rests, much to Mum's relief. They even gave her a cushion to sit on. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us away from the busy areas and bigger motor boats as much as possible. My favourite part was when we canoed into the much smaller canals. We saw birds, cayman, iguanas, lizards, monkeys and a sloth.

Wildlife tour in the national park - We loved this canoë tour in the national park of Tortuguero. Cloid, our guide was just amazing. He knows everything about everything. He showed us many birds, caïmans, even baby caïmans ! And a lot of survival technics. He also knows a lot of very interesting and surprising facts about the species. We can really feel that he is passionate by his job and the wild life in general ! It has been my best experience in Tortuguero. The animals and the atmosphere is super nice and I learned a lot of things that could be useful later and/or just really interesting to know. Thanks Cloid 👌🇨🇷 Pura Vida

Overall good morning of canoeing - We did two tours with this company - the canoe and the turtle tour. However, this review will be solely based on the canoe tour. This is because I did not enjoy the Turtle Tour, but this was at no fault of Tortugero Eco Experiences, but the National Park Authority and their lack of regulations and allowance of so many people at any one time. That is in a separate review of Tortugero National Park. For the canoe tour, we met our guide at 5.45pm. We were given binoculars which was absolutely great, they were good quality and allowed us to see so much more. We paddled over to the entrance of the national park and our guide Israel showed them our tickets. Our tour then began and we saw so much! Very impressed with the amount of wildlife in the reserve. We saw a baby crocodile, howler monkeys, caimans, a variety of birds, green iguanas, anteater, toucan, sloths, herons, spider monkeys, Jesus Christ lizards and river turtles. It was a very productive canoe ride and I’m so pleased we opted for the canoe rather than a powerboat tour as we were able to get right into the ecosystem where a lot of other tour groups weren’t going. It was incredible. Israel was very knowledge of the ecosystem and the animals generally. There were times when he was a bit condescending, but I don’t think he meant to be. The only thing I would say was we got rather close to a Caiman and I didn’t feel comfortable with how invasive we were into the animals personal space. All other species, Isreal was generally quite good at keeping a fair distance, but for the Caiman I did feel like we were encroaching on the animals space too much.
