Amazing! - Beautiful camp. Located in the middle of the wilderness by a lake full of hippos and crocodiles, you can watch gazelles, giraffes and elephants drinking your morning coffee. The staff is courteous and friendly, the food is delicious and the accommodation is very comfortable. We really enjoyed the game drives with Tende and would come back anytime.

Best Safari ever - We had a once in a lifetime experience We stayed 3 nights and did 2 days game drive with Tende. He is a very experienced tour guide and has a huge knowledge of plants and animals. We learned so many interesting things. The food was excellent, service was great. Breakfast and dinner just at the riverbank with hippos directly in front. Just 3h30 from Dar till the Mtemere Gate and after that approx. 1h30 till Tendes Camp. It was just amazing!!

Just amazing! - We had an amazing experience in a beautiful camp, set up with love for the details, and exciting game drives in which we saw all the animals we had wished for! The guides had a lot of interesting facts to share, and the food at the camp was absolutely delicious, compliments again to the chef. I will recommend it to all my friends.

Simply the best - If you want an authentic, intimate African safari in which you really feel connected with nature, Isyankisu is the one to book! The camp is discretely submerged in Selous reserve, close to the water where you can admire all the hippos swimming (at least when it is not dry season). Tende and Bile are the most amazing hosts and you can feel that this is their passion and not just a job. From the carefully chosen wooden furniture, to the sophisticated breakfast, lunch and dinner menus (I am not joking, Tende spends a lot of time in the kitchen and the results are luxurious), the comfortable tents and DELICIOUS coffee selection in the Morning...the list goes on. The journey begins early in the Morning in Dar es Salaam: You will have breakfast in a village along the way and continue the journey to the camp with a jeep, from which you'll be able to spot a great variety of animals before even getting to the camp. At the camp, you can decompress with a cold beer or cocktail from Tende's selection of spirits and homemade gin before getting to your tent to refresh before dinner. Tende and his staff will pick you up each Morning Morning to have coffee by the fire before heading out for the first game drive before the real breakfast followed by another game drive and lunch. The program is very flexible; we never felt like we were forced to do anything, but of course we never wanted to miss an opportunity to see the amazing animals. Tende has years of experience in this field and his definitely the wilderness' best friend, so look forward to a few exciting anectodes ;) Definitely recommend.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience in the wilderness of Nyerere National Park, Selous - Off the beaten track, at "Makubi Safari Camp", you will experience Tanzania's nature and wildlife closer than almost anywhere else. The charming camp is set amidst the natural beauty of Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous National Park. The tented safari camp is outstanding in every way. The attention of Tende and Gcebile, the owners of the camp and their company “Isyankisu”, is remarkable - both in the way they accommodate their guests, including children, and in how they run the camp in a very environmentally friendly and sustainable way. The food is fantastic (I'd say the best I've had in Tanzania so far) and after a long and exciting day on safari in the wilderness, you can relax at the camp and enjoy the sunset while tasting Tende's handcrafted gin. The safari tents with comfortable beds allow for a peaceful sleep while you hear hippos and other wildlife nearby. But what are great views, a prime location for wildlife and good food worth if the actual nature experience falls short? Not so with Tende, who accompanies the daily game drives. Tende is one of the most experienced game guides I have ever met and impresses with such comprehensive knowledge that you begin to see flora and fauna with different eyes. If you want to experience a real wildlife safari in Tanzania, you should not miss a stay at the "Makubi Safari Camp".
