• Lake Retba - Departure at 9 am from your hotel towards Lac Rose. The entire trip, including the visit, takes about 6 hours, with 3 hours spent traveling between Dakar, Lac Rose, and Badia. Lake Retba, also known as the Pink Lake, is famous for its color, which shifts from pink to purple depending on the sun’s intensity. A large dune separates the lake from the Atlantic Ocean, and the area offers excellent terrain for dune crossings. Salt collectors, standing waist-deep in water, use a tool called a ‘djodj’ to break the salt crust at the lake’s bottom before shoveling the salt into canoes. Women then unload and pile the salt by the lakeside. Activities include a tour around the lake, nearby Fulani villages, and the beach by quad bike, dune vehicle, or camel. You can also enjoy boat rides to observe the salt collectors or take a dip in the lake to experience the unique floating sensation due to the high salt content.

• Bandia Reserve - Upon arrival, we will use a 4x4 vehicle specially designed for safaris. The Bandia Reserve spans 3,500 hectares and is home to many animals, some of which have been reintroduced to Senegal after long absences. These include rhinoceroses, giraffes, large antelopes, dama gazelles, Derby elks, buffalos, patas monkeys, vervets, warthogs, hippotragues, jackals, and mongooses. After the visit, you will be returned to your accommodation, marking the end of our service.
