Our BEST day in Taiwan! - This was an UNFORGETTABLE day! We saw things that we never would have found ourselves and our guide was knowledgeable, and incredibly hospitable. You could tell that his top priority was our enjoyment. Thanks Henry — you were amazing!!! He also had exclusive access to all the best spots! I can’t recommend this tour enough!

Magical Shifen & Jiufen - Really awesome family friendly activities with breath-taking sites like the Shifen waterfall, golden waterfall and Yin-yang sea. The sky lantern is quite interesting and fun. Our guide, Chiao-chiao was friendly and very knowledgeable. Two thumbs up!

Half-Day Tour with Sean - My partner and I booked this tour on 12 Dec. Sean was an incredibly patient, knowledgable, and accommodating guide. Sean picked us up at our hotel in Ximen and dropped us off at the hotel at the end of the tour. The itinerary included visiting Shifen Waterfall, releasing lanterns in Shifen, stopping by to see landmarks like the Remains of 13-Levels, and walking through Jiufen. Travelling from place to place especially as first-time visitors seemed daunting, however, Sean took us to each place and we never felt rushed to move to the next location. By having a guide, the trip was definitely made more efficient as we did not have to wait or plan our transport to the next location as well. This tour has something for the different type of travellers that may come to Taiwan or specifically Jiufen and Shifen. Jiufen and Shifen area the surrounding areas have a rich history of which Sean gave us interesting information as we travelled and stopped by them. These places are backdropped by tall mountains, winding roads, beautiful architecture, and coastlines which provide a good opportunity for photographers. Lastly, Jiufen Old Street has an abundance of food stalls, and shops selling snacks and souvenirs. There is something for everyone on this trip! I generally prefer to travel and explore at my own pace, however, there are certain areas and experiences that are made better with a helpful guide. For first-timers or those looking to get more out of their trip to Jiufen and Shifen, I would highly recommend booking this package!

I can see why this is the top rated tour! - My partner and I enjoyed a half day tour of Jiufen, Shifen and the sky lanterns. Even though the weather could have been better (it was windy, raining and cold), we still had a lot of fun with our guide Hicks. Hicks was not only knowledgeable but also great company and the bonus was he made sure we had A LOT of photos at the end of our tour. Although this wasn’t a food tour, there were plenty of chances to try different Taiwanese food in Jiufen. Hicks took us to an old school tea house where we were able to warm our cold hands while learning how to prepare and drink traditional tea with snacks. On a nice day, the view would have been magnificent. We opted to start our tour at 12 noon and finished just after dark. The timing was perfect as it turned dark just as we were setting our sky lantern up up and away. We highly recommend this tour and think the half-day private option was just the right amount of time. Amazing tour with great guide - Highly recommend! This was an amazing tour - we saw so much in such a short time. Nicolas is a very knowledgeable guide and safe driver. All the sites are even better in real life and Nicolas knows how to get the most out of each spot in a short time.

Best tour in Taipei!!! - Our tour guide was Nicolas and he was amazing!! He reached out via WhatsApp a few days and is great at communication. Nicolas and YOLO were very accommodating and able to add on another person last minute to our group luckily (orig 2 ppl and changed to 3). This was the best private tour I’ve ever done! You see so much in a day in New Taipei City area: ying yang sea, gold waterfall, jiufen (famous tea house tasting for $300 NTD each and walk through the old town and temple), Shifen (suspension bridge, waterfall, even saw the train pass by!, and the lantern event was a highlight!). It sprinkles a bit in Taipei and he was prepared with umbrellas and has so much knowledge about the city and history, we loved his energy! It was great having him there to translate for us esp walking through markets to buy food/goods. He even has recs for other activities or local advise and even coordinated an airport shuttle to TPE airport for us! Highly recommend booking and hope y’all get Nicolas!! Also recommend going early to avoid the crowds, he rec we start at 10am which was perfect bc as we got to the places there were ppl but as we left the cities the crowds were even more and harder to walk through! So we came at the right time! We have already rec this to our other friends visiting Taipei too as a must do. Also he’s a great photographer and knows all the great viewpoints for pics!!

Excellent Adventure! - The Viator guide was professional, very safe driver and had a lot of interesting knowledge o share. Very caring about keeping us all together as we followed him around from one point to another. Highly recommend!

Lantern Fun - Had a fun family time in Shifen with lantern release as well as visited waterfall and Jiufen. Our guide Alex is very knowledgeable and friendly

Could have been great; unprepared and terrible driver meant it was not - The sights were wonderful, but the driver/guide/organization? Not so much. We had used YOLO Travel for an earlier trip and it was great, but this time was an ordeal. Our driver/guide Sean was really nice, but he had not reviewed our tour and thought we were on an 8-hour tour which covered other things, so he took us to the wrong destination for our first stop, which meant we did not have time for the sky lanterns. Also, the driving was awful. The start-stop/slow-fast driving made all of us car sick -- Sean had to stop at the side of the road so one of us could throw up and the rest of us felt awful. I should add that we are all ex-military, so we are normally extremely motion tolerant; this was bad. There was no easy way to fix the tour, and no one to call. Two stars becuse the sights we did see were amazing and Sean was really nice. But would not recommend.
