Amazing experience to learn more of local culture in Nairobi - Nemoh was an amazing host! We met with her in the local market to gather the ingredients for our dish, she gave us different options of a meal to make as well. The visit to the market was a wonderful introduction to local culture and everyday life in Nairobi. We then took the bus to our host’s home and she shared some very helpful tips on using local public transportation. She was very welcoming and we learned so much about Kenyan cuisine and how to prepare a traditional meal that we can continue to recreate at home. Come hungry because you will share an amazing meal with a wonderful host! Nemoh was so kind and welcoming and shared many great recommendations for the remainder of our time in Nairobi.

5 stars - highly recommend - Nimoh’s cooking class was an absolutely fantastic experience, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Nairobi. She was very communicative ahead of the class, letting us know where we needed to meet, what to wear/bring, etc. She was very prompt in meeting us at the meeting point, then flexible when I needed to uber rather than use public transit due to my mobility limitations. She allowed us to choose which dishes we wanted to make, and I highly recommend learning to make ugali. It was delicious in conjunction with the meat and vegetable dishes, and it is such a Kenyan staple. She also taught us how to eat it (rolling with hands into a ball, then flattening it and scooping veg/meat). When we saw it at our hotel buffet later, it was fun to know the authentic way to eat it! Nimoh was great at explaining things at the market, as well as teaching us how to make the dishes step-by-step. Her home is lovely and welcoming. Lastly, she offered to answer questions we had about Kenyan food, drinks, culture, traditions, and more, which was over and beyond gracious and appreciated by my husband and me! 100% recommend!

Fantastic Cooking Class - Amazing afternoon with a shop tour and a cooking class - "Nemo" was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and a fantastic mentor for learning to cook the Kenyan National Dish. We had a really fun time with the other two attendees. The market visit and bus ride were an absolute hoot. We highly recommend this event.

Great evening experience - This was so much fun. First riding on the city bus to the market was a hoot. Then seeing all women selling fresh produce with exuberant personalities. Then another bus to apartment. Learned several cooking skills and food was typical African fare. Great overall fun

SO much more than a cooking class - This cooking class / local market tour with Nimoh was an absolute Must-Do for anyone visiting Nairobi for the first time. Every part of the experience was informative and authentic and she did an excellent job making sure we felt safe. We were lucky enough to do this event on our second night in Nairobi and she gave us tons of suggestions for the rest of our time here. This is the kind of experience that I wish I could get in every city I visit - thank you Nimoh!!! 10,000/10 stars
