Ascending Fansipan is quite a challenging hike due to its steep slopes. Previously, reaching the peak from Sa Pa and coming back would take roughly 5-6 days, but now it can be accomplished in only about 3 days. For those who are expert hikers and physically fit, the climb can even be completed in a single day.
From the mountain peak, panoramic views of Sapa town and China can be observed, even though you are physically located in Vietnam. The experience is likened to being in paradise as you find yourself immersed in a sea of clouds, relishing the sunset, and breathing in the freshness of the azure sky.
There’s a small village around the 1,500 m (4,920 ft) mark where food and bedding arrangements are available. Moreover, there’s an overnight camping spot at 2,800 m (9,190 ft) for those who prefer to stay the night on the mountainside.
