Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van villages
Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - Enjoy breakfast with stunning views over Sapa town and the Muong Hoa valley. Around 8:30am, your local Hmong tour guide will meet you at your hotel to start your trekking adventure. If you wish, your guide can arrange to have your luggage transported to the homestay in Ta Van. We’ll begin our trek with a visit to the local market before heading to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, and Ta Van in the Muong Hoa valley. During the 15 km walk, we’ll visit three villages of ethnic minorities. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley leading to Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam and Indochina. The trek passes through the village of the Black Hmong people, where you can learn about their weaving and embroidery techniques. As we descend, we’ll see many colorful rice paddy fields until we reach Ta Van village, home to the Dzay people.
Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa - Ha Giang
Ta Van Village - After breakfast and checking out, we’ll leave Ta Van and continue our trek to visit the Red Dao people in Giang Ta Chai village. We’ll pass through stunning scenery and a beautiful waterfall along the way. As their name suggests, the Red Dao women use a lot of red in their clothing and scarves. Our journey takes us along small paths beside rice fields and across the Muong Hoa River. We’ll have lunch at a fantastic spot along the way. We’ll return to Ta Van after our second amazing trek in the early afternoon, where you can enjoy a refreshing shower and some free time before heading back to Sapa. Around 2pm, we’ll say goodbye and transfer you back to Sapa. From there, your luxury AC bus will take you to Ha Giang at either 4pm or 7:30pm, with an expected arrival time of 10:30pm or 1:30am. The bus will drop you off at your host’s place for the night.
Ha Giang - Heaven Gate - Quan Ba Pass - Yen Minh - Vuong Palace - Dong Van
Quan Ba Heaven Gate - You’ll arrive early, but your host will be ready to pick you up and offer you a place to rest. After breakfast, we’ll start your first riding day, covering around 155km. Along the way, you’ll see many Hmong people and get a glimpse of their daily lives. We’ll have plenty of time to stop at beautiful spots for photos or to enjoy the scenery. The first point of interest is Heaven’s Gate, which, at a height of 1500m, is often shrouded in clouds. The view is spectacular! In Quan Ba, you can see the famous twin mountains. We’ll have a local lunch at a small restaurant in Yen Minh before continuing our journey. About 15km west of Dong Van, we’ll visit the Vuong (King’s) Palace, built by the Hmong people for their king. We’ll reach Dong Van around 5pm, where we’ll check into a guesthouse or homestay and have dinner at a local restaurant. Dong Van is a quiet village, perfect for a leisurely walk.
Dong Van - Ma Pi Leng Pass - Meo Vac - Du Gia village
Meo Vac - After breakfast, we’ll continue your motorbike adventure through the stunning Dong Van Geo Park. The views here are among the best in Vietnam. The Ma Pi Leng Pass is considered the “king” of Vietnam’s passes. From the top, a 20km long “happiness road” begins, handmade by the local people and exuding a romantic atmosphere. In Meo Vac, you’ll see some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes. We’ll continue to Mau Due and Du Gia, where you can see beautiful terraced rice fields and local life. We’ll have lunch in Du Gia, in an area where ethnic Tay families live. If time permits, you can take a refreshing swim at the waterfalls in Du Gia Village. We’ll spend the night at a guesthouse or homestay, enjoying dinner later in the evening.
Du Gia - Du Gia waterfall - Duong Thuong - Lung Tam villages - Ha Giang - Ha Noi
Du Gia - After breakfast, we’ll start riding again through more stunning scenery and many small villages. We’ll have lunch along the way before arriving back in Ha Giang. Here, you can take a quick refreshing shower before the 16-seat limousine bus picks you up around 4pm for the 6-hour journey back to Hanoi, where the trip ends. The estimated arrival time is between 9:30 and 10pm. From the limousine bus stop, it’s either a short walk or taxi ride to your accommodation in the Old Quarter.
