Challenging trek requiring fitness to complete in a day. - We went with Real Vietnam Company. Our English-speaking guide, Cha, was responsive, patient and encouraging. Attempting Fansipan in a day requires you to be moderately fit. It's abt 11km up, and the same way down, with a total altitude ascent of 1,600m. Be prepared for lots of steps, (even ladders at some points), and rock slopes. Go prepared with hat, gloves, waterproof jacket during winter.
It takes an average of 5 hours one way, but can take longer depending on rest times.
It was wet, and foggy at the top, so we didn't get to see the views, but the trek itself was an experience and worth doing nonetheless for the sense of accomplishment getting to the top of Fansipan.
We went in winter, so it got dark earlier and we decided to take the cable car down, which was quite an experience in itself.

Great experiences! - I booked two activities with Sagonese Trekking, it was superb!
The first was the one-day motobike tour, visiting the surrounding waterfalls and then the villages. This motorbike ride allows you to have a beautiful view of the surroundings of Sapa. I did my walk with Linh who was so cool and perfect, she taught me lots of things about the history of waterfalls, villages etc.
Second experience with Tôm, who was also superb. It was about climbing Mount Fasipan. Very happy to have done it, beautiful landscapes, it's sporty and it's worth it!!
At the end of each activity I was treated to a snack and foot bath on the return to Saigonese Trekking, it's the best.
Enjoy !!

Awesome trip! - The hike to Fansipan was wonderful!
Our guide was the friendliest you could think of. They take you at the bottom of the mountain by car and bring you back at the end of the day.
It's quite a big walk! But i enjoyed every second. The views are incredible all along the way. You are in the middle of the mountains and above the clouds. You cross little rivers and huge fields with buffalloes roaming. When you are at the top, the views are breath taking and the temple around it is mezmerizing.
A big plus is the food, you get a 6 am beautiful breakfast to gather energy and a huge bottle of water. Then any time until lunch we could eat fruits and boiled eggs while walking. Everything is taken care of for lunch, no need to bring anything. You can chose to go back by cable car or walk back if you feel ready for it.
When we came back to the hostel, we got an amazing feet bath for our sore muscles and pancakes.
100% recommend !

Memorable trip. - One of the most wonderful trips I’ve ever experienced. I’m not a mountain enthusiast, I came to Sapa for relaxation and received an invitation to join my friends. The homestay where we stayed introduced this service, and it was great that they prepared everything for me and my friends: from food, drinks, equipment to wishes and lucky bracelets. We were enthusiastically taken care of by our guide Pao throughout the trip, he enthusiastically introduced about Fan Xi Pang as well as everything around it. A bit sad because I’m old so I couldn’t walk down but had to take the cable car. When we returned to the homestay where my friend booked the service (Saigonese Trekking House), we were warmly welcomed and cared for by the friendly hosts and volunteers. We ate cake, drank tea, and soaked our feet in some miraculous water. Thank you Sapa and Fan Xi Pang for giving me a wonderful experience!

Embracing the Challenge: Conquering Fansipan as a First-Time Hiker with Pao as Our Guide - As someone who had never ventured into the world of hiking, the idea of conquering Fansipan, the "Roof of Indochina," seemed like an insurmountable challenge. Yet, the allure of the mountain's majestic peaks and the promise of breathtaking vistas beckoned me, and I decided to embark on this expedition with my three friends – Yên, Lâm, and Thanh.
Our guide, Pao, proved to be an invaluable asset from the very beginning. His warm and welcoming demeanor instantly put us at ease, and his extensive knowledge of the trails and the surrounding environment instilled in us a sense of confidence. Pao's enthusiasm was contagious, and his passion for the mountains was evident in his every word and action.
Despite being a novice hiker, I was determined to push my limits and experience the thrill of conquering Fansipan. The ascent was undoubtedly challenging, with steep inclines, slippery paths, and the occasional obstacle thrown our way. Yet, Pao's unwavering support and encouragement kept me going, reminding me that the summit was within our reach.
Along the way, we encountered a series of unexpected events. I fell five times, and one particularly nasty fall resulted in my foot getting injured. The pain was excruciating, and I momentarily doubted my ability to continue. However, Pao's unwavering belief in me and his gentle words of encouragement spurred me on.
With each step, I felt a surge of determination, fueled by the unwavering support of my friends and Pao's unwavering guidance. The pain in my foot faded into the background as the scenery around us transformed into a breathtaking panorama of lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and serene bamboo groves.
Finally, after hours of perseverance, we reached the summit of Fansipan. The feeling of accomplishment was indescribable. We stood there, humbled by the grandeur of nature, savoring the moment we had conquered one of Indochina's most challenging peaks.
Our descent was equally rewarding, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of the mountain from a different perspective. The journey down was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible experience we had shared.
My first-time hiking experience on Fansipan was nothing short of transformative. It taught me the power of resilience, the importance of teamwork, and the unwavering support of true friends. Pao, our exceptional guide, played a pivotal role in making this adventure truly unforgettable. His passion, knowledge, and support made the journey a truly rewarding experience, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together.

5* experience!! - Chu picked me up from my hostel in the morning and took me for breakfast and coffee which was delicious. We then took a short ride to the starting point and began the hike. Chu was great and set a very good pace. It was just me and Chu so was a great experience. Overall the tour from pick up to drop off (where more food and foot treatment was great) was amazing. I would highly recommend!

Fansipan Hike - Guide was great and the booking was easy! Much cheaper than other options to hike Fansipan. It took me about 7.5hrs to complete the hike, but I was told most people do it in closer to 10-12hrs.

Great hike if you prepare! - I hiked with Pao and had a fantastic time! He did a really good job and knew a lot about the region. The mountain is so beautiful, but please be aware what you're getting into (1900m vertical + 3000m peak + tail exposure + weather) and don't put yourself and the guides at risk! Also I'm 77 or 80kg and drank 3.5L on a 'cool' day with mostly fog, so be sure to bring enough water.
