Sapa - Our guide will meet you at a designated spot of your choice in Sapa town. We’ll begin our trek from there.
Y Linh Ho - Y Linh Ho Village is home to various small ethnic groups scattered along the mountain slopes, with the Black H’Mong and Dao being the most populous. The village is now divided into two communes: Y Linh Ho 1 and Y Linh Ho 2, each housing around 100 Mong and Dao families. Visitors to Y Linh Ho Village will be captivated by the stunning views of terraced and corn fields, which are meticulously maintained by the locals. The fields are especially lush during the harvest season, attracting many visitors who come to admire the natural beauty and capture unique photos of the ripe crops.
Lao Chai - Lao Chai Village is located about 7 km southeast of Sapa town’s center, nestled in the serene Muong Hoa Valley and surrounded by the majestic Hoang Lien Son Mountain range. It is close to Ta Van Village, another popular tourist spot in Sapa. If you’re weary of city life, Lao Chai offers a peaceful retreat where you can connect with nature and leave your worries behind. You can stroll through the paddy fields, take photos, listen to the morning birds, and enjoy the soothing sounds of streams and waterfalls.
Ta Van Village - In Ta Van, visitors are greeted by picturesque natural scenery, the gentle sounds of streams, and the songs of wild birds. The village is backed by the Hoang Lien Son Mountain with Muong Hoa Stream in front. The houses face northeast, adhering to the Giay people’s feng-shui belief that homes should not face the mountain or the stream’s flow. The Giay people have preserved their unique culture, customs, religion, and festivals for centuries. We’ll end the day at my Hmong sister’s house, enjoying a delicious traditional meal together.
Ta Van– Muong Hoa – Giang Ta chai – Su Pan– Hau Thao
Hau Thao - Start your day with a delicious breakfast before continuing your trek through the heart of Muong Hoa Valley. After passing through Ta Van, one of the most famous villages, you’ll trek through a mystical bamboo forest to reach the valley’s most beautiful waterfall. Enjoy the breathtaking view on the other side of the valley. In Giang Ta Chai, you’ll learn about the Red Dao, the valley’s second-largest ethnic group.
At the end of the day, before returning to Sapa, spend your last moments at Zizi homestay, explore Zizi’s village, and enjoy the sunset.
Muong Hoa Valley - Muong Hoa Valley is renowned for its majestic nature, stunning scenery, and the vibrant cultures of its many ethnic minorities. Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, including Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina, the valley remains largely untouched by modernization. Highlights include the 15-kilometer-long Hoa Stream and extensive terraced fields along the mountainsides. From above, the stream winds around the terraced fields and stilt houses, creating a poetic scene that leaves a lasting impression on visitors. The terraced fields in Muong Hoa Valley are considered some of the most beautiful in the world.
Giang Ta Chai Village - After lunch and a short rest, you’ll continue to Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Red Dao people, with its stunning mountain and rice terrace views. The guide will take you to visit local houses before hiking up to the main road for a car ride back to your hotel in the center.
Su Pan - After passing Giang Ta Chai Village, we’ll reach Su Pan Village, home to the Hmong and Dao people, where you can observe their daily activities.

Traditionally, Hmong communities have resided high in the mountains, unfazed by even the sharpest of inclines. Even slopes of 70° are scaled with their customary honeycomb sandals. This trek invites you to emulate them and test if you can walk the path of a Hmong. Along the way, our less traveled route promises to gift travelers with gorgeous landscape amidst the Sapa valley, also known as the Muong Hoa valley.
