Highlights
  • Pedra do Sal - Pedra do Sal is one of the nicest spots in the area known as Little Africa. This cradle of Carioca samba has become a paradise for those who like to mix history with beer, youth, samba, and nightlife.

All of this takes place in front of a large rock with a carved staircase, Pedra do Sal, a heritage listed in 1984. The staircase gives access to Morro da Conceição. This area of Porto Maravilha is called Little Africa because it was a point of sale and exchange for slaves and shelter for quilombos. There, the salt from the ships that docked in the port was unloaded, the origin of the meeting of dockers sambistas.

Amazing Rio party night - This is a genuine not to be missed experience. A massive street party in Little Africa on the steps used for slave trade for 400 years. A party of reclaiming African heritage with samba happens there every week. Our host was Gustav, and he was fantastic company. We loved his insights into the history and culture of Rio. Tasty cocktails - but watch out, they have a kick!

Incredible samba energy in Rio - Incredible place, the energy you feel is unique, best day to go on Monday! It’s a good idea to arrive early to get a seat for a good view, after it gets very crowded it’s difficult to walk… I thought it was safe because it was an off-season day (end of the year and Carnival) but of course it's always good to be smart. Take a photo or video and put your cell phone away. In addition to the outdoor samba, there are several bars and stalls selling drinks! I will definitely come back

Fine but very overpriced - Great but way too overpriced tour. It would be nice if the guides added a little more: such as a samba lesson, typical Brazilian delicacies, extra drinks. Now you pay purely for the fact that there is a guide and that you can talk to other people from the group.
