Fes to Merzouga - A Desert Odyssey
Medina of Fez - We’ll commence our journey from Fes Medina, with our team collecting you from your hotel.
Ifrane - Our adventure kicks off in Fes, as we travel through Ifrane—a winter ski resort crafted by the French in the 1930s, designed to mimic a Swiss village.
Azrou Cedar Forest - Keep going through the forest in Azrou where you’ll spot monkeys, then drive over the Middle Atlas Mountains. Spend the day winding through pretty forests, springs, rocky areas, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and start heading down to the Sahara Desert.
Midelt - Midway through, we’ll pause for lunch in the town of Midelt, known for its fossils and rocks. Afterward, we’ll continue on the road to Merzouga.
Merzouga - Pause to take in a wide view of a vast oasis filled with palm trees before reaching Merzouga in the afternoon. Following a refreshing mint tea break, your guide and camels await to guide you through the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi. Revel in the sunset’s beauty atop a camel, and after an hour, arrive at the desert camp for a night in a Berber tent. At the camp, your camels are secured, and mint tea is served. Cap off your day with a delightful dinner and stargazing until you drift into sleep.
Merzouga to Gorges or Ouarzazate - Unveiling Oasis Treasures
Ouarzazate - Enjoy a tasty breakfast before setting off for Ouarzazate. Travel through the challenging Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, resembling sand castles along the historic caravan trading route. This region, famed for Hollywood films like The Last Temptation of Christ, Jewel of the Nile, and Hideous Kinky, boasts a captivating landscape. Nestled amidst lush river valleys, palm groves, and vibrant mud-brick homes, the central region is a thrilling and romantic destination in Morocco, all beneath the expansive blue desert sky.
Dades Gorges - Take a break for lunch and explore the Todra Gorge. Journey through the Dadès Valley, passing impressive cliffs, and enjoy a late dinner at your hotel in the Gorges or Ouarzazate.
Ouarzazate to Marrakech- Captivating Culmination
Ouarzazate - Have breakfast and explore Ouarzazate, visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studios (entrance fee: 8 € per person), the largest and most renowned in Africa. Then, visit Ait Ben Haddou, arriving in time for lunch. Explore the famous Kasbah, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and featured in films like The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia.
Tizi n Tichka - Travel through the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, along a road ascending from the plains to 2260m above sea level. Along the way, explore small villages, waterfalls, and the ever-changing landscape and colors of the stunning mountains. Wrap up your day by returning to your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
