• Jamaica Firewater - The operator will pick you up at your specified meeting location, provided it is within the Ocho Rios area. Cold bottled water will be available for you!

The journey to the destination will take approximately 30 minutes, offering a chance to get acquainted during the drive.

Upon arrival at the site parking area, the operator will handle the entrance fees while you change into your bathing suit if you haven’t already. For the next hour, enjoy the soothing, naturally hot and bubbly water, and experience the excitement of “playing” in the flames as they appear. (Rest assured, you will not get burned.) For an additional fee (details below), the pond keeper can provide his renowned 15-minute relaxation massage.

Once you feel relaxed and refreshed, change back into your dry clothes, grab a cold drink from the nearby stand, and the operator will take you back to your meeting point.

NOTE: Please bring or wear a swimsuit, and consider bringing water shoes (optional) and a towel. The entry fee of $40 US will be collected before arrival. If you wish to enjoy the optional 15-minute massage from the pond keeper, an additional $80 US is required.

If you want a treat that’s a bit different from the crowded usual attractions, then Firewater Pond is for you. A signal that you’re about to stumble upon a hidden gem known more to locals than tourists is the winding, rutted road leading up to the secluded grotto. On the way, I’ll share the history of the pond you’re about to discover. Once we arrive at a clearing, I’ll guide you to the bamboo- and tarpaulin-shielded enclosure that protects the pond, which is said to have healing properties due to the high concentration of minerals. But it’s the methane that seeps up into the water from the ground below that gives the pond its name. The pond “keeper” (grandson of the woman who discovered the pond’s “magic”) regularly sets the water on fire, allowing visitors the unique experience of bathing safely in flames. If requested, the keeper will give your legs a fire “massage,” using a towel soaked in the water. It’s like no other experience you’ve ever had.
