It lies 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Nuweiba, at the foot of Mount Sinai and Saint Catherine’s Monastery, on the borders of the El Tor Mountains at a height of 1,586 metres (5,203 feet). It had a population of 4,603 people in 1994. Saint Catherine was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.

Mount Sinai - Mount Sinai is a mountain in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. It is also known as Jabal Musa . It might be the same as the biblical Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments, according to the Bible.
It is a 2,285-metre (7,497-foot) reasonably high mountain near the city of Saint Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula. Higher peaks in the mountain range of which it is a part encircle it on all sides. For example, it is located adjacent to Mount Catherine, Egypt’s highest peak (at 2,629 m or 8,625 ft).

One of the earliest Christian abbeys in the world, an essential visit for all history enthusiasts. Its importance to three major faiths has earned it a World Heritage Site distinction. The variety of sights and activities here is vast, and given that the abbey closes daily at noon for services, getting there early is recommended. A bit of pre-trip research is advised to ensure optimal use of your limited time at this place. A brief trek to the peak of Mousses Mountain is also on the cards.

Worst experience I’ve had through viator - AVOID THIS COMPANY
The guide told me a week before hand that everything was confirmed.
The night before they asked for my hotel room number to pick me up in the morning. I provided it and ask the time. Then around 11 pm they cancelled. They said the event was not available and would not say why. They said the following day was available. I said can you please confirm availability, if you can I will get a new flight and another night at my hotel. They confirmed.
The following day they confirmed pick up time of 515 am. They picked me up the next day at 515 am just to tell me it was the wrong excursion. They would not take me back to my hotel, I had to run out of the van and get a taxi back to my hotel. This was a traumatizing experience and the kicker is they would not refund me my money!!! What a horribly ran excuse of a company .
I reported them to Viator but nothing came of it. I wish I knew of an alternative I could recommend but I don’t. Just avoid all interactions with this company
