Mount Sinai, also known as the Mountain of Moses or Mount Hareh, is referred to as Har Sinai in Hebrew and Jabal Mūsā in Arabic. It is celebrated as the main location of divine revelation in Jewish history, where it is believed that God appeared to Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5). St. Catherine is a destination to visit the St. Catherine monastery, located 220 km northwest of Sharm el Sheikh, nestled between the St. Catherine’s mounts and Moses Mount. This monastery is the oldest in Christianity and is an Orthodox Greek monastery. Within its remarkable walls lies a unique citadel, rich with significant religious and historical structures. Among its treasures is a library of ancient manuscripts and icons, second only to the Vatican’s, and a 6th-century church believed to be situated directly on the site of the Burning Bush.
