Long trek but seeing the sunrise and being at the top summit of Mount Sinai is incredible. - We was picked up around 8am and dropped off around 12.30pm. The night trek was an adventure. It was a long treck initially and then it can get difficult for some going up the 750 steps to the summit at the end-but it was such a lovely experience trekking in the night and seeing the beautiful starry night sky. The sunrise in real time is breathtakingly beautiful-pictures do not do it justice-need to see it in real time to truly appreciate. It is a long trek but you can take a camel ride (around £10) upto the 750 steps and then will need to walk the 750 steps to the summit. I found there was no rush as you wait in the hut just before last steps to the summit (maybe winter time as can get cold up the top so leaving you.to hang around at the top until sunrise would not have been wise). So if you are struggling no harm to go at an easier pace. There are many stops along the way at shop huts for tea coffee break. Do take some egyptian pounds to purchase items and to use the loo is is around 10 egyptian pounds-may need to take your own toilet rolls though. At the last stop it did get cold in Feb so you can rent a blanket etc and you stop here for around an hour before going up the final few steps to the summit to see the sunrise. To then walk down in daylight was amazing to see how much had been actually climbed and to appreciate the scenery. We then visited the monastry and you can pray here if you want. It is a long trek but I personally loved every moment. They do first show you a shop where they sell images/icons of various saints etc but I perosnally do not like images/idols so did not buy any. Our tour guide Yourgi from FTS travel via (Get your guide) was brilliant engaging and had a good sense of humour. Thanks Shabnuma
