A visit to La Soufrière Volcano takes travelers along the scenic windward coast of St. Vincent, passing through banana and coconut plantations to the starting point of the foot trail.

This path guides adventurers along steep volcanic ridges, lush with bamboo and other tropical trees.

This is a full-day adventure for enthusiastic hikers, who should set out early in the morning, as the climb to the crater is approximately 3 ¼ miles, but it is truly rewarding.

The journey can continue down the west side trail, concluding 10 or 12 miles later in Chateaublair on the leeward (west) side.
